Position Summary:

Plan, analyze, directs and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, safety, and delivery specifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·  Promote goals and achieve key measures. Direct, implement, and maintain short-term plans in support of operational goals and objectives. Monitor performance against plan and ensure that goals are met.

·  Lead manufacturing production team leaders (i.e. Production Supervisors for Converting and Assembly). Utilize participative management, lean manufacturing and technical expertise to ensure efficient operations and the development of teams.

·  Leads safety meetings and plant initiatives with assistance from Human Resources. Monitor incidents and overall safety performance for problem solving and priority management.

·  Participate as a member of the Management Team. Attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness on all major issues, e.g. direction, annual planning, budget, policy changes, implementation of team objectives.

·  Review production schedules to make decisions concerning on time delivery, quality, inventory, staffing requirements, work procedures, and maintenance issues.

·  Balance team and individual responsibilities; build morale and group commitment to goals and objectives.

·  Utilize Continuous Improvement techniques to reduce department costs, enhance quality, while reducing safety issues and/or incident/severity rates.

·  Coordinate work with support functions to establish and maintain stable production schedules, labor requirements, material flow, safety, quality, and delivery.

·  Maintain and post production efficiency reports; other reports as necessary to drive continuous improvement.

·  Coordinate implementation of preventative maintenance procedures and facility maintenance.

·  Institute employee involvement/suggestion programs to promote teamwork, drive safety and generate cost savings; recognizes accomplishments of other team members.

·  Monitor and coordinate waste water management in accordance with EPA requirements.

·  Approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.

·  Manage customer contact through courteous communication and professional demeanor.

·  Performs other duties as necessary or as assigned.

Demonstrated Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

·  Timely response to customer requests for service and assistance.

·  In-depth knowledge of the corrugated industry, lean manufacturing, inventory control and supervisory principles.

·  Effective communication with all relevant parties to respond to changes in manufacturing and/or delivery schedules.

·  Communicates changes effectively both orally and in written form with internal and external customers and co-workers.

·  Gathering and analyzing information skillfully to develop alternative solutions.

·  Sound and accurate judgment taking appropriate action as required.

·  Aligning work of self and subordinates with strategic goals.

·  Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Amtech/Imaginera software.

·  Manage several priorities at one time.

·  Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

·  Probability exists for work schedule adjustments (e.g., working outside of normal work hours or work days) due to changes in customer priority/demand.

·  Regular exposure to work near moving mechanical parts.

·  Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.

·  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

·  Regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear.

·  Must be able to differentiate colors.

·  On occasion, must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility:

·  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience:

·  Bachelors Degree from a college or university.

·  Minimum of five (5) years related industry experience; including the supervision of others during this time.

Preferred Candidate:

·  Bilingual in Spanish.
