The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences would hereby like to invite applicants who have a particular interest in teaching, new approaches to teaching, curriculum development and the use of information technology to stimulate learning to apply for the Clinical Educator Pathologist post in the Division of Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

Requirements:

·  Either an MBChB with experience in the field of medical education OR a strong educational background with specific expertise in developing IT – based learning tools

·  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, in writing and orally.

·  Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students and to work well in a team.

·  Ability to work autonomously, under pressure, and meet deadlines

·  Ability to make effective use of IT support

Responsibilities:

·  Assist with curriculum development for pathology teaching within the MBChB curriculum, in particular to develop on-line teaching resources and explore other novel approaches to enhance pathology teaching and assessment.

·  To explore the use of mobile technology in teaching pathology.

·  Liaison with pathology disciplines and exploring course content

·  Development of online course content and assessment tools

·  Identify other innovative approaches to teaching pathology

The remuneration level and number of hours is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
