Corey Martin, MD, Allina Physician Resilience and founder of the Bounce Back Project

Corey Martin is a Yale-trained family physician driven to change the delivery of healthcare and improve the mental and physical health of our communities. He is a founder of the Bounce Back Project (www.bouncebackproject.org) and lead physician in Allina Health’s response to clinician burnout. Driven to do this work by the loss of two colleagues and friends, Corey strives to create an environment of opportunity in which all of us can do the deep, heartfelt work of changing the way we show up and interact in each other’s lives. One of the ways he does this is by facilitating resilience retreats for Bounce Travels (www.bouncetravels.com) across the United States and throughout the world. In his free time, he enjoys working on his farm that he has recently turned into an event center. He lives in Buffalo, MN with his wife and three daughters. He is a recovering perfectionist and an aspiring “good enoughist”.

Margaret (Peg) O’Brien, Chair, Labor & Employment Practice Group, Devine Millimet & Branch PA

Peg represents employers in all aspects of employment work, with her daily practice primarily focused on either providing clients with risk management advice during all phases of the employment relationship or aiding clients with a defense in the event of an employment claim. Peg’s experience includes drafting various employment contracts and employment agreements, including handbooks, as well as counseling on the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws, the federal and state anti-discrimination laws, various federal and state leave laws, whistleblower claims, and enforcement of non-compete and related agreements. Peg defends employers before the NH Commission for Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the US and NH Departments of Labor, the NH Department of Employment Security, and federal and state courts. Peg also conducts internal investigations and regularly presents on employment law topics. She earned her B.A. in Computer Science from Colgate University, and her J.D. from George Washington University. She is past chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section and she serves as her firm’s point person for two "employment law" hotline services offered to members of the New Hampshire Automobile Dealers Association and the NH Center for Nonprofits.


Peg resides in Bedford with her husband and two daughters. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Granite YMCA and the New Hampshire Public Defenders.

Elizabeth K. Rattigan, Director, Labor & Employment Chair, Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC

Beth Rattigan focuses her practice in the areas of employment and labor law in Vermont and New Hampshire. Her concentrated experience enables Beth to guide clients around obstacles before they manifest and to resolve conflict when it finally arises. Beth regularly defends employers in federal and state court matters such as wrongful discharge and discrimination claims. She provides advice and training to management regarding employment law compliance and human resource issues including hiring, discipline, termination, reductions in force, wage and hour practices, investigations, sexual harassment, employee relations, employee training, personnel policies and employment agreements.

Michelle Varcho, Director of Education Outreach for the National Rural Recruitment and Retention Network (3RNet)

Michelle coordinates education-related activities for 3RNet members and rural facilities across the country including trainings using 3RNet’s educational tools such as the Recruiting for Retention manual, a rural-focused plan and guidebook focused on finding and keeping providers in rural areas.

Prior to joining 3RNet, Michelle was a Human Resources Director for a Federally Qualified Health Center in Jefferson City, Missouri, where she help them grow from five employees in one location to one hundred and ten employees in four locations, serving over 13 counties. The services provided included Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Pain Management, Behavioral Health, Dental and Nutrition counseling. In this role she created and implemented strategies and best practices to overcome the unique barriers to recruiting and retaining providers in the rural health care arena.

Michelle has over twenty years of experience in health-care related human resources both at the local and national level. She has an MBA from Williams Woods University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia College. She holds a Sr. Professional Human Resources certification since 2003.
