1.4   SUBMITTALS

A.   Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

B.   Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

C.   Shop Drawings: Indicate opening dimensions, framed opening tolerances, affected related work and installation requirements.

1.5   QUALITY ASSURANCE

A.   Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing residential and commercial wood windows with minimum ten years documented experience.

B.   Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing residential and commercial installation of wood windows with minimum five years documented experience.

1.6   DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A.   Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

B.   Store units in a dry location, off the ground, under cover, protected from weather and construction activities.

1.7   PROJECT CONDITIONS

A.   Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

1.8   WARRANTY

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1   MANUFACTURER

2.2   WOOD WINDOWS

A.   Wood Double-Hung Tilt Windows, Legacy Series as manufactured by Weather Shield Mfg., Inc. of Medford, Wisconsin.

1.   Performance:

a.   ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S. 2-97:

1)   Rating: H-LC25; maximum jamb size 45-5/16 inches by 99-1/8 inches (1151 mm by 2518 mm).

2)   Rating: H-LC50; maximum jamb size 37-5/16 inches by 73-1/8 inches (948 mm by 1857 mm).

b.   Air infiltration shall not exceed 0.30 cfm/ft2 (0.142 L/sm2) at 1.57 psf (75 Pa) when tested according to ASTM E 283.

1)   No water penetration when tested at the following pressure according to ASTM E 547:

a)   H-LC25 - 3.75 psf (180 Pa).

3)   Pass a forced entry resistance test of at least Level 10 to meet requirements set forth in ASTM F 588.

2.   Frame: Includes solid one-piece jambs and applied inside sash stops at sides and sill.

a.   Frame corners square cut, rabbetted at head, dadoed at sill, chemically and mechanically fastened.

b.   Frame thickness: 1-1/16 inch (27 mm) head, 9/16 inch (14 mm) side jambs and 1-3/16 inch (30 mm) sill.

c.   Frame shall have standard jamb depth of 4-9/16 inch (116 mm).

d.   Frame shall have 2 inch (51 mm) brick mould factory applied to head and side jambs; sill shall have 1-1/16 inch (27 mm) sill nose.

e.   Sill includes a .045 inch (1.1 mm) tan vinyl sill riser that interlocks into a .070 inch (1.8 mm) white aluminum sill cover.

f.   Jamb Extensions: Provide with jamb extensions up to and including 12 inch (305 mm) overall jamb depth.

3)   Jamb extensions match interior frame finish (with the exception of knotty pine).

3.   Sash: Corners mortised and tenoned and mechanically fastened.

a.   Sash Lift: Provide with two finger lift routs in the bottom rail of the bottom sash (standard).

b.   Sash Lift: Provide with no finger lift routs.

c.   Sash shall be 1-5/8 inch (41 mm) thick; 1-3/4 inch (44 mm) at top and bottom check rails.

d.   Top sash rail shall be 3 inches (76 mm) wide; bottom sash bottom rail shall be 3 inches (76 mm) wide; stiles for both sash shall be 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) wide.

e.   Top and bottom sash must tilt in from the inside for cleaning purposes without removal of screens.

4.   Hardware:

a.   Balance System: Self-contained, calibrated block and tackle balance system housed in a foam-backed rigid vinyl jamb liner with solid wood inserts. Windows with pine, knotty pine and American fir interiors shall have maple inserts in jamb liner; all other hardwood interior windows shall have coordinating wood inserts in jamb liners.

b.   Lock Handles: Two lock handles per window mounted on bottom sash check rail with concealed locking mechanisms in check rail. Lock handles shall operate integral sash release latches at check rail.

1)   Zinc die-cast handle/keeper finish:

a)   Goldtone/beige (standard).
