A.National offers a counter bypass program for Emerald Club members at select airport Rental Aisle locationsand is widely preferred for seasoned travelers.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car offers a high touch service for those travelers who like to be greeted or for those who need customized service; where a rental employee will take the renter through the full rental process.
Q.Are advanced reservations required?
A. Advance reservations are highly recommended.

Q.Can I rent from one brand and return to another brand?
A.National’s partnership with Enterprise does not allow for pick-up or return to different brands. Please return the vehicle to the brand from which you rented it.
Q:How to I reserve a vehicle?
A.Business reservations are to be made using the Canada Post Online Travel Reservation tool or through American Express at the time you book your other travel arrangements, such as flights and hotel rooms. Q: When renting a vehicle, are unlimited kilometers provided?
A: For Enterprise brand rentals: Yes, up to a maximum of 4,000 kilometres per rental.
Any additional kilometers will be charged at the rate of C$0.20/km
For National brand rentals: All rentals up to a Fullsize class, renting and returning at the same major airport location include unlimited up to a maximum of 4,000 kilometres per rental. All other vehicle classes include 200 kilometres per day; 1,400 kilometres per week; and 4,000 kilometres per month. Excess kilometers for all car classes are charged at the rate of C$0.20/km.
Q: Whatis the minimum age requirement to rent a vehicle for business purposes?
A: The minimum age requirement is 21 years old at all locations in Canada and the USA; except for Labrador City and Wabush NL where the minimum age requirement is 25 years old.
Q: Can I request to have winter tires on the vehicle?
A: In the province of Quebec, vehicles are equipped with winter tires from December 15 to March 15 as required by law. There is a daily fee charged on all rentals throughout the year to cover the cost in Quebec. In the rest of Canada, winter tires can be requested with 48 hours advance notice and are not guaranteed. Vehicle classes vary by location. The daily rate for winter tires is $12.99/day.
Q:What do I need to do to cancel my vehicle rental reservation?
A: If your reservation was made using the CPC online travel reservation tool, cancel your reservation using the tool.
If your reservation was made by calling our travel agency, call the travel agency to cancel the reservation
If your reservation was made directly with the car rental company, call them directly to cancel the reservation
Q: What do I do if I am going to be late picking up the vehicle?
A: If you are going to be late in picking up the vehicle, call the rental location to advise them.
Rental Process
Q:Damage Waiver (DW) – the terms Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) also mean the same as DW.
Do I need to decline theDW when I rent a vehicle?
A: For Enterprise rental agreement
- The agreement will be the same (same format, same information) at all Enterprise car rental locations in Canada and the USA.
- The renter MUST initial to decline CDW, PAI/PEC, SLP, Roadside assistance
For National rental agreement
- The agreement will be the same (same format, same information) at all National car rental locations in Canada and the USA.
- There is NO requirement for the renter to decline CDW, PAI?PEC, SLP or Roadside assistance
Q. What is the vehicle rental pick-up process the National brand and for the Enterprise brand?
A. When renting with Enterprise, proceed to the rental counter to complete paperwork and an agent will escort youout to the selection of class size vehicle you reserved. If you reserve using your Emerald Club membership, you will receive expedited service.
When renting with National, your reservation number is appended with a 5-letter code identifying the pickup process you should follow. Depending on your member level and the location you are renting from, the pickupprocess will be as follows:
AISLE– Follow the signs to the Emerald Aisle, pick any car and proceed to exit booth to complete the rental
EXSEL– Follow the signs to the Executive Selection, pick any car and proceed to exit booth to complete therental
BOOTH– Follow the signs to the Emerald Club booth, show your valid Driver’s license, and collect vehicle keys and go
RESRV– Proceed to the vehicle row of the car class you’ve reserved (Reserved a minivan? Proceed to
minivan row. Choose your vehicle and proceed to exit booth to complete the rental
EXCNT– Proceed to the designated Emerald Club counter, show your valid ID and collect vehicle keys and go
Q: Do I need to walk around the vehicle and identify any issues before I leave with the vehicle?
A: For National rentals: complete your walk around before you drive to the exit kiosk and advise the agent if you saw anything of concern.
For Enterprise rentals: the rental employee will complete the walk around with you before you sign off on the condition of the car.
Q. I need to extend my rental. How do I do this?
A. Call 866-913-4356 to add the additional cost to your corporate credit card.
Q. Can you explain one-way rentals, unlimited mileage and drop fees?
A. All one-way rentals are to be reserved through National. Authorized one-way rentals include a flat rate that includes unlimited mileage and no drop fee charges for compact through full size cars. Other car class categories will be charged the base rate plus mileage.
Q: If I return the vehicle late, what happens?
A: If you are going to be late returning a vehicle, please call the rental location to advise them.
If a vehicle is returned one to 29 minutes after it is due, no charge is incurred.
If a vehicle is returned 30 to 89 minutes after it is due, a one-hour charge is incurred.
If a vehicle is returned 90 to 149 minutes after it is due, a two-hour charge is incurred.
Q: Do I need to refuel the vehicle before returning it to the car rental location?
A: At all Canadian airport locations, vehicles are provided with a full tank of gas and vehicles are to be returned with a full tank of gas.
At off airport locations, vehicles may be provided with less than a full tank of gas. The renter is to refuel to the same amount of fuel that was in the tank at time of pickup prior to returning the vehicle.
Q: Do I need to walk around the vehicle and identify any issues when I return the vehicle?
A: National: complete a walk around before dropping off the vehicle. If there is damage, proceed to the rental counter to complete a damage report
Enterprise: the rental agent will complete the walk around with you. Advise the agent if there is damage and complete and accident report.

Q. What do I do after I enroll in Emerald Club?

Q.If I’m already an Emerald Club member, do I need to enroll again?
A.No, it’s not necessary to enroll again. However, you will need to update your member profile with your currentcorporate credit card and the Corporate Account Number (Contract ID)(this is what links you to the Canada Post program to ensure you receive the appropriate rates and benefits).

Your virtual member packet with membership card will be sent to you via email within 48 hours. To receive benefits immediately, include your Emerald Club number in the reservation. Emerald Club at Enterprise Rent-A-Car
Q. I previously enrolled in Enterprise’s E Plus program. Is it necessary to join the Emerald Club?
A.Yes, you should enroll in the Emerald Club in order to receive the correct Canada Post program and earn rewards.The Emerald Club program is recognized at Enterprise Rent-A-Car whereas the E Plus program is not recognized at National Car Rental.
Q.I have an Executive membership (or higher) with National Car Rental, will I get the same benefits on vehicle choice with Enterprise?
A.When you rent with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, you will be able to pick your car from the car class you reserved.
You will be charged what you reserve.
Q. Why is my credit card being authorized for more money than the total on my rental?
A. Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s policy is to authorize an amount over the estimated total, typically 10 to 20 percent atthe time of rental to cover any overages. When you return the vehicle, Enterprise will charge the amount equal to the total charges and release the authorization immediately.
Q.Why am I required to sign a rental agreement each time I rent with Enterprise Rent-A-Car when I have a master rental agreement (MRA) on file with National Car Rental?
A. Your signed MRA is valid only at National and is not applicable at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. In order to processyour credit card payment, Enterprise requires your signature.
Q. How do I arrange for pick-up service for Enterprise Rent-A-Car rentals?
A. After booking your reservations using the CPC Post online travel reservation tool, contact the rental location to coordinate the pick-up date/time. The pick-up service does have to be scheduled in advance. When your rental is complete, the location will be happy to drop you off at your home or office within their location area. If you need a ride to a different location than where you were picked up, advise the rental location and they will guide you to the closest location to your drop off point. Please note due to security regulations “Airport Locations” are not able to offer pick-up service.

Q. Can I receive free rental credits for my business or personal rentals?
A. Yes! You have the ability to earn free rental days as your reward option in your Emerald Club profile.
Q. Once I’ve earned free days, how do I book my reservation?
A. Please call 800-227-7368 to book reservations using your free day credits.
Q. Am I limited to what car class I use my free day coupons for?
A. As an Emerald Club member you can earn credits at both National and Enterprise. You accumulated free day days can be redeemed at National for full size cars and below. As an Executive or higher member, you are not limited to the full size class and below.

Billing/Receipts
Q: What methods of payments are acceptable?
A: When renting a vehicle for business, employees are required to use their corporate credit card.
For personal reservations, employees are required to use a personal credit card. The liability insurance on personal rentals is the individual’s responsibility.
Q: If I return the vehicle earlier than scheduled, do I get reimbursed or a credit?
A: At both brands the car rental company only takes an authorization on your credit card when you pick up the rentalvehicle. If you return early you are only charged for what you have used.
Q: What surcharges will I see on my rental agreement?
A: Every location will charge the VLF – vehicle licensing fee. QC locations charge a RRF – regional recovery fee, annual cost for mandatory winter tires. The airports will charge one or more of the following: PLF, ACRF, CFC which are all related to airport access fees or premium location fees.
Q. How do I get my receipt?
A. When renting with National, it is best to have the e-receipt option selected on your Emerald Club membership so that your receipts will be emailed to you immediately following the return of your vehicle.
