Board of County Commissioners

Dear Commissioners,

As a Black Forest home owner, I appreciate the value of our home and property. But it goes above just property value. I also value the space and peaceful living that the area offers. To have the chance each day to get away from the hustle of a busy city is extremely refreshing. Also, as a family of five, it is a lifestyle we value for our children. We want them to enjoy playing out doors and have room to roam and explore.

As Colorado Springs continues to grow and the building demands continue to also grow, I cannot help but be concerned about some of the developments. In some cases, the houses seem to build built right on top of each other. The Black Forest area seems to be one of the only areas that has maintained a spacious living environment.

I became aware of a development called “TimberRidge” earlier this year. While learning about the development, I was thankful to see the developer’s willingness to help preserve the Black Forest living lifestyle. I observed the lot sizes varied from approximately 1/3 of an acre to 5 acres.

I feel having the “TimberRidge” community nearby will help Black Forest property owners not only maintain property values, but possibly increase in value.

I feel a second advantage to the “TimberRidge” community would be business development continuing to grow closer to the Black Forest area. This would be beneficial to the Black Forest residents to have closer business, shopping, and eating opportunities.

I would like to express my support of this building project and would ask the County Commissioners to approve this development plan.

Thank you; Jake SkifstadJake SkifstadJake Skifstad
