It has been another busy month for Eglinton tetrathletes with Royal Windsor closely followed by Junior Regional's and Mini Regional's this weekend coming!
Windsor
Sophie Steel was selected to represent Scotland at Royal Windsor Horse Show. Sophie managed personal bests in all her disciplines and jumped clear! You can't ask more than that from anyone. The Scottish Team were the only team to jump clear - even better. A good time was had by all.
Junior Regional's
Eglinton had Sophie and Amber Steel, Steph Craig and Bryn Doherty selected to compete in the Scottish Team for Junior Regional's. It was held at Moreton Morrell again with their fantastic cross country course. All four had good triathlons with the swim being the highlight of the tri phases. Then onto the cross country which lived up to last year's expectations and some more. There was the drop to the skinny, the a,b,c water with the jump in the water, 3 offsets going in different directions, a big trakehner, you get the idea! Jackson decided the trakehner looked big, so Sophie then opted for the L, Amber and Steph both managed a clear, Patrick decided he didn't like the idea of jumping with slippy ground going downhill. The team with Sophie, Amber and Steph were 4th overall in a line up of 22 teams. Well done girls!
Mini Regional's
Eglinton have Philippa and Lois Williamson, Hazel and Ailsa King, Archie and Eilidh McLean and Curtis Blakely all taking part at the Mini Regional's at Kelso and Pallinsburn this weekend. There are 147 competitors from Scotland, East of England and Southern Ireland all taking part in this competition for the under 12's. GOOD LUCK to you Eglinton!
Areas
The Area Tetrathlon competition takes place on 18/19 July at the Citadel in Ayr and then at Barskimming. The tri will be run on the 18th and the riding on the 19th. The schedule can be found on the Scottish Tetrathlon website. The Championships are then held 11-14th Aug at Bishop Burton (Junior and above plus Grassroots Champs for Tetrathlon). We are hoping to make up teams of 4 children with 3 scores to count. If we can't make boys and girls teams we will look at mixed teams and if that is not possible we will enter for an area team. Will you please let me know via email if you are interested in taking part and I will make up teams? y queries please let me know. It's probably easier for me to talk through any grass roots queries you might have over the phone than via email.
