Defence Ministry Benefits From Datatel

As communication technologies and developments continue to make headlines around the world, the indigenous mobile phone company, Datatel donated a modern fixed wireless terminal phone to the deputy Minister of Defence at Tower Hill on Friday 19th May.

Revealing the purpose of such a donation, the Marketing Manager of the phone company, Mrs. Aisie Nana Williams, on behalf of the company said that the company's Board does recognize the significant role the army is playing within and outside the country, as well as the need for the ministry to be equipped with the most effective communication devices. "Communication is the military's main tool which makes the donation a very come development," she explained.

Presenting the items, the Assistant Customer Care Manager, Mrs. Jebbeh Koroma noted that the items will be very useful to the military as it will eliminate the difficulties in transmitting messages to senior officers in different locations.

The fixed wireless terminal has an in-built sophisticated device and can be move to any direction or location without affecting the reception or transmission.

Receiving the gift for the ministry, the deputy Defence Minister, Mr. Joe Blell thanked Datatel for the gesture, which he said was timely, and promised the military's support aat all times.

Mr. Blell also assured them of government's commitment in promoting local companies to a sustainable standard, especially so when the nation's telecommunications company, Sierratel, is in deranged. Mr. Blell also said that since there are soldiers all around the country, such mechanics will be squarely used to effect good communication network.

The Chief of Defence Staff and other senior officers where also present at the ceremony, and also pledged their support to Datatel.
