Regular Council Meeting
August 7, 2014
The City Council of the City of Irondale, Alabama, assembled in a public session at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. on August 7, 2014.
I. Invocation and Pledge
The invocation was given by Councilmember London and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Pike.
II. Call to Order
The President of the City Council called the meeting to order.

IV. Approval of minutes for the Regular City Council Meeting
V. Approval of Bills for all Payment
It was moved by Councilmember Wilson and seconded that the bills in the amount of $ 435,913.22 be approved for payment and a copy of the list of invoices be filed as an attachment to these minutes.

Reports were given by Council President Bobby Joe Wilson, Councilmember John London, Councilmember Sanderson, and Councilmember Bearden.

XII. Public Hearing
Public Hearing on Ordinance 2014-128 to amend Ordinance No. 1-0598 to change
the zoning from A-1 Agriculture District to R-1 Residential District.
It was moved by Councilmember Wilson and seconded to suspend the rules to open the public hearing. Mrs. Daphne Guy of 4170 Riverbrook Road, Irondale AL 35210 spoke in favor of amending the zoning ordinance. Ms. Virginia Brown of 4154 Riverbrook Road, Irondale AL 35210 and Ms. Karen Smith were against amending the zoning ordinance. It was moved by Councilmember Wilson and seconded to close the public hearing and resume the council meeting.
XI. Approval of the Agenda
It was moved by Councilmember Bearden and seconded to approve the agenda.

Unfinished Business
1. Resolution 2014-R-119 (Council President Wilson Legal Fees)
It was moved by Councilmember Wilson and seconded to postpone to a certain time the
reimbursement of legal fees for Councilmember Wilson in an amount not to exceed
$ 10,000.00.
New Business
1. Resolution 2014-R-126 (Caboose and Viewing Station)
It was approved by unanimous consent to transfer $ 2,300.00 from the Legal Service
account to the Caboose and Viewing Station account to repair the lights.
Motion adopted
2. Resolution 2014-R-127 (Greater Irondale Chamber of Commerce)
It was approved by unanimous consent to transfer $ 5,000.00 from the Legal Services
account to the Greater Irondale Chamber of Commerce account to provide funding
through FY 2013-14

3. Ordinance 2014-128 (Change zoning from A-1 Agriculture District to R-1 Residential District.
Resolved, That Ordinance 2014-128 amends Ordinance No. 1-0598 to change the zoning from A-1 Agriculture District to R-1 Residential District.
It was moved by Councilmember Bearden that Ordinance 2014-128 be considered read. The motion was seconded and upon being put to a vote, carried on a roll call vote:

It was moved by Councilmember Bearden that all rules that would prevent the immediate consideration and adoption of Ordinance 2014-128 should be suspended and that unanimous consent be given for the immediate consideration of said ordinance. The motion was seconded and upon being put to vote, adopted on the following.
Finally, it was moved by Councilmember Bearden that Ordinance 2014-128 be passed and adopted. The motion was seconded and upon being put to a vote, the ordinance was unanimously adopted.
