Rules and Expectations of Basketball Cheerleading

(read and return the bottom at parent meeting)

·  MANDATORY PARENT MEETING Thursday November 18 at 6pm in room 209.

·  Basketball Season runs November 21st through March 10th with games every Tuesday and every Friday. JV games run from 4:00pm-6:00pm and Varsity games run from 6:15-9:30pm. Please refer to the schedule for exact dates and times. Both JV and Varsity times are posted on the schedule at http://schimizzi.cmswiki.wikispaces.net/Varsity+and+JV+Cheer

·  Cheerleaders MUST ride the bus to away games. They can ride home with THEIR OWN parents, but otherwise must ride the bus home after the Varsity game (no bus returns after JV games).

·  Cheerleaders may have downtime between school and times for games. They can remain in the classroom with a coach, go get food and return directly in small groups, or be picked up and returned by a parent. You will be provided with a permission form to sign. Please return it at the Parent Meeting.

·  Cheerleaders are allowed 2 absences for the ENTIRE season. These absences can be for any reason. Work, family issues, personal needs are all legitimate reasons to miss a game, but they do count towards the 2 allowed absences. If more than 2 games are missed, the cheerleader may be removed from the team. Coach MUST be informed of absences at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in cheerleader being benched for a game. Please see below for other rules and expectations.

·  There is also a participation fee for this athletic season of $100, to be paid ONLINE by November 30th. Athletes become ineligible on December 1st. Please follow the link below to pay. YOU CANNOT PAY AT SCHOOL!! If you believe that you qualify for a financial waiver, look on the same webpage for a financial waiver, which MUST be turned into Coach by Thursday Nov. 18 in order to be processed.
