2013-14 District Governor Bob Gebhard

Bob Gebhard was born in Alameda, California, and was raised in San Jose, California, where he graduated from Camden High School. Upon graduating from high school in 1965, Bob served in the United States Navy until 1968,when he took his first banking job in San Jose, California, with Wells Fargo Bank. He attended San Jose City College, majoring in Banking and Finance.While working for Savings of America, he was transferred to Houston in 1982. Currently, he is an Executive Vice President with Texas Citizens Bank in Pasadena, a boutique community bank, which Bob helped start in Pasadena in 2006. Texas Citizens Bank currently has six offices throughout the Houston area.

Bob has been a member of Rotary since 1993,having served as a Director, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Pasadena South, and as club President in 1997-98. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Pasadena. Bob served asanAssistant Governorfor three years,Area Foundation Chair and the District Permanent Fund Chair.He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, PolioPlus Society member, Benefactor,Bequest Society member, and a White Hat Society Member.His wife,Dianne, is also a Paul Harris Fellow and a Benefactor. They have been active in hosting Group Study Exchange team members, Youth Exchange students and Ambassadorial Scholars.

Bob’s early community involvement began in California with the Poway Jaycees;he also formed the El Camino Chapter of the Kidney Foundation. Locally, Bob has been very active in community activities, such as being Lifetime Vice President of the Pasadena LivestockShow and Rodeo,as well as a boardmember of the Pasadena Independent School District Education Foundationand the McDonald’s TexasInvitational Basketball Tournament. Hehas volunteered for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the San Jacinto Foundation Pasadena Strawberry Festival, and Pasadena Communities in School.Bob was also appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the State Commission in the Fitting and Dispensing of Hearing Aids.

Over his career, Bob has received numerous awards and honors, such as the Circle of Excellence award with Savings of America, for the best branch in Texas. As a Jaycee, he was recognized Jaycee of the Year and Jaycee Project of the Year, Bob has also been recognizedas Chairman and Director of the year by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. Rotary awards have included Rotarian of the Year for both the Pasadena and Pasadena South Rotary Clubs, and Director of the Year for Pasadena South.

Bob and Dianne met and were married in California, and now reside in Pearland. They have been married 32 years, and have a daughter, Debra, and son-in-law, J.D. Rice,who have two children, Cameron and Kennedy; Bob also has two children, Kelly Miller and husband, Glenn, and theirson, Garrett, and son, Rob,and his daughter, Jessica.

Bob and Dianne are members of Sagemont Church in Houston. Dianne is a surgical scrub tech and is employed with HCA Gramercy Surgical Center, in Houston.
