·  Analyzed and identified the tocopherol metabolites in human and cell cultures.

·  Conducted and managed a project regarding the bioavailability of b-carotene from different food commodities using different cooking methods in humans.

·  Analyzed different forms of vitamin E in human plasma and vitamin E metabolites in human urine samples using HPLC and GC-MS.

·  Planned and managed the lab: order supplies, manage lab equipments, prepare reagents, and modify lab manual, train undergraduate work study students etc.

·  Set up Gas-Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer.

·  Analyzed different forms of vitamin E in human plasma and vitamin E metabolites in human urine samples using HPLC and GC-MS.

·  Recruited subjects and prepared vitamin E supplement for and collection of urine samples from human subjects.

·  Developed a methodology to assess b-carotene metabolism and isomerization using rat enterocytes.

·  Trained graduate students in the preparation of dose, analysis of blood samples, HPLC running, and general lab techniques.

·  Analyzed plasma retinol, retinyl ester, and b-carotene for 13C enrichment using HPLC and Gas Chromatography-Combustion-Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer.

·  Extracted lipids from human plasma. Saponified and hydrogenated plasma samples.

·  Separated isomers of b-carotene and retinol using HPLC.

·  Prepared 13C all-trans- and 9-cis-b-carotene doses using crystallization and HPLC.

·  Prepared in vitro model to test b-carotene isomerization, i.e. simulated gastric juice and mixed micelle suspension.

·  Isolated mRNA of MT (metallothionine) and Northern blotting for MT in liver

tissues of chicks and chick embryos.
