Meeting was called to order by Chairperson at 7:00 p.m.

7.1 Fire Chief’s Report
7.1 (a) Report
Phone Company
Risto Maki advised that when the phone services were down in the “386” area that it was more difficult to deal with two companies than it would have been just to deal directly with Bell, specifically regarding the 911 service. He is wondering if the Fire Hall can return to the usage of one company.
Rabies Clinic
The rabies clinic is currently being held at the Fire Hall. Risto Maki advised that if an emergency came up while the clinic was running then it would be more difficult and time consuming to get the trucks out. He suggests that next year the rabies clinic be moved, perhaps outside at the Village office.
Youth Soccer
The Fire Department will not be able to assist in hosing the kids off during the soccer season this year as the loaner Tanker is not sufficient for this purpose. The Fire Department will still take part in the final wrap up event.
New Hire
Risto Maki would like to hire a recruit.

That the South River – Machar Fire Committee does hereby accept the recommendation of the Fire Chief to hire Dalton Pinkerton on as a volunteer recruit for the South River – Machar Fire Department.

Tower Extension
An extension for a tower on Park Road is being done. It the Fire Department were to put communications on the extension, it would cost $350.00 a month, plus some of the installation fees.

That the South River – Machar Fire Committee does hereby accept the fire chief’s report dated May 2013 to June 2013 and attached to the Minutes of June 4, 2013.
