2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST.

Decision

NOTEDthat declarations of interest were received from Sandra McDowall due to her being an RSPB Member and from Robert Higgins due to his past membership of the RSPB and past holder of a Shotgun licence. These Members did not consider that their interest required them to leave the meeting during discussion of Item 3.

  1. WIGTOWNBAY LOCAL NATURE RESERVE – CROOK OF BALDOON – Report by Principal Officer, Countryside and Environment, Planning and Environment Services.

Decision

NOTED

3.1the proposed Management options for the Crook of Baldoon outlined in Appendix 1;

3.2the feedback from the three Workshops held at the meeting outlined in Appendix 2;

AGREED

3.3to recommend to the Planning Housing and Environment Services Committee that the following was approved for a five year period and was subject to review in 2018:-

Management Option 3 amended to include the following:-

  • That the bottom 25% of the Crook of Baldoon 10m strip , south of the Crook of Baldoon farm buildings, be open for wildfowling;
  • That negotiations took place regarding opening of some of the suitable “Creeks” to allow wildfowling; and
  • That negotiation with the landowner at Balsalloch took place to open this area for wildfowling; and
  • To review the way in which permits are managed and the possibility of increasing the number of permits issued;

4.PUBLIC FORUM.

Decision

NOTED that no items had been raised under Public Forum.
