Creating a Japan Presentation with Photo Story 3

You will be using Microsoft Photo Story to create a “movie” about Japan using the same subject as in your wiki.

Planning Your Story

1. Learn Photo Story. There are YouTube Videos you can watch

2. Decide who will be the “keeper” of the project—the person who stores the project in their home directory.

3. Plan your story: What pictures do you want to find? What changes do you need to make to your essay so it is a good script? Create a storyboard.

4. Find your pictures and store them in the keeper’s HD. They must be crisp, sharp images when enlarged. You can increase the likelihood of sharpness if you choose the LARGE images tag in the advanced search. Put pictures in your home directory.

5. Write a title for each picture. Maximum of 5 words long.

  1. Write your script for each photo. Plan to speak for at least 25 seconds per slide.

Putting the Story Together

  1. Import photos into PS. Arrange in the most logical order. Edit photo if necessary.
  2. Add your titles. Be sure titles do not clash with the pictures when you place them on the screen.
  3. Add narration. Test the recordings.
  4. Customize motion, as explained in PS. Emphasize the correct object.
  5. Create transitions between slides. More IS NOT better. Simple works best.
  6. Select/create music. Professional music is limited to 30 seconds per song.
  7. Save for playback on a computer.

Requirements

--8 slides (first one is a group photo) minimum

--30 seconds of narration for each slide expressing detailed content

-- 8 headlines

--appropriate music and motion

Special Tech Instructions:

Finding Music You Can Use: You can’t use your favorite Soulja Boy tunes, or other popular songs, as those have copyrights. You have two ways of getting music:

1. Go into Passouts—HS—Morriston-Library—English9 Ring. Go to the songs folder. Choose one of these.

2. Create music in Photo Story.

3. You can use 30 seconds of a song with a copyright. 30 seconds total.

4. Find royalty free music on the Internet. My passouts have ideas.

Library Photo Story: StoryBoard

The basic plan has been designed for you. You have to put in the details. Scripts will be written on a separate sheet.
