Dear Potential Exhibitor,
The Zebrafish Facility opened on January 1, 2011 and is one of the largest and the world’s most modern zebrafish facility. In late 2010/early 2011, two animal rooms were completed and populated with animals and scientific projects. The third animal room will be activated later in 2011 to give a total capacity of near 7,000 tanks. The new Zebrafish Facility will afford initiation of collaborative, large-scale projects (that will require thousands of fish and fish lines), such as forward and reverse genetic screens that would not be feasible for a single investigator. It is expected that, with the construction of the Zebrafish Facility, a critical mass of researchers employing the zebrafish model will establish a vibrant and interactive zebrafish community that can significantly enhance many research areas at Washington University School of Medicine.
We would like to invite you to consider being an exhibitor at our upcoming Inaugural Zebrafish Facility Symposium and Dedication of the Facility that will be held by the Department of Developmental Biology, Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, May 27, 2011, in the Connor Auditorium of the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center. The Zebrafish Dedication Ceremony and tours of the Zebrafish Facility will begin at 10:00 am and will last until the Inaugural Zebrafish Symposium begins at 12:30 pm. The symposium is scheduled to end by 5:30 pm.
The exhibitor display will be held in the first floor Atrium of the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center, 520 S. Euclid Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110 (on the Medical School campus) as well as in the Zebrafish Facility and will begin at 9:30 am and end at 5:30 pm. Setup can begin as early as 9:00 am and breakdown must be completed by 6:00 pm. A location diagram for the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center is enclosed with this letter. The Atrium area of the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center is an open space and a main passage area for university personnel. A copy of the Atrium’s Exhibitor Table and Electrical Outlet Map is also enclosed. This map indicates the location of tables, as well as the location of electrical outlets. At this time, we anticipate that each vendor will be allowed one 8 foot table; however, this could be reduced to one 4 foot table. Electrical outlets are only in select locations, indicated by a circle on the map. On the registration form, please let us know your electrical needs.
We anticipate an audience of 50-100 participants for the Symposium, and as stated earlier, traffic through this area is considerable. A world-class group of scientists will speak at this meeting. This conference will be an excellent opportunity for you to meet one-on-one with scientists from academia, post-doctoral fellows and students who are working using the zebrafish model in their research.
