Suffering a net loss during the summer of 2017 of eleven sides, including three clubs withtwo teams each, they being George & Dragon and CCK, both of whom folded, and WorthingLeisure, who switched to different leagues, the second season of the Brighton, Worthing &District League saw membership at the start comprise 33 teams in three divisions - with no Division 2 West compared to 44 in four divisions a year earlier and finished with 29 as aresult of four teams dropping out during the season.

Unlike the previous season when much rainfall took a heavy toll of matches, there were only12 postponements and meant a March finish for nine sides, leaving only 12 league games to be played during April. There were just 12 scratched games compared to 40 in 2015/16, fourby Littlehampton Town Athletic Reserves who also conceded six of the 19 'double-figure' tallies

(25 the previous season), including the highest two of 21-2 by AFC Broadwater and 20-0 by

Goring Cricket Club Reserves.

Five member teams reached the 4th round of the Sussex Junior Cup of whom Romans Unitedwere 3-1winners in the final v Lancing United 3rds. They also won the Bridle Trophy, Brighton

Electricity the Worthing Charity Cup, Worthing BCOB the 'double' of the Premier Division andthe Brighton College Cup and AFC Sparta the Ernie Walmsley Memorial Cup.WoodingdeanWanderers topped Division 1 East and the two supplementary competitions were won byWorthing BCOB and The View.
