£15,000.00 - FTE Based on 37.5 hours

JOB SUMMARY:
To support the manager inall aspects of the running of the shop; having responsibility for maximising sales and generating income as well as supervisory responsibility for a team of shop staff and volunteers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY FUNCTION – TRADING

  • Supporting themanageryou will be responsible for the selection, pricing and merchandising of all donated stock into your shop. Maintaining a high standard of presentation throughout.
  • Working with the manager you will be responsible for the merchandising of new goods and will participate in stocktakes of this stock as requested.
  • Responsible for promoting a positive and professionalexperience that will meet the customer’s needs.
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and local businesses.
  • Support the manager with aspects of retail EPOS system, using the steering wheel to improve sales, produce reports to show trends that may affect your targets.
Maximising Sales
  • Create, implement and participate in sales and promotions. Ensure the best price is achieved for each item using the shop pricing structure and ensuring value for money. Increase and drive donations of quality stock. Actively encourage the public to donate stock and gift aid if applicable. Deliver improved year on year sales results.
  • Support the manager in developingand sustaining the profitable performance of the shop by motivating staff.
  • Administration Support the manager and be responsible for recording sales information on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Banking shops takings and reporting figures to the Head of Retail. You will maintain accurate records of stock holding. You will also be required to implement and maintain up to date health and safety checks.
KEY FUNCTION – MANAGEMENT
  • Support the Manager with the recruitment, management and development of staff
  • Take an active role in supporting the manager with , training, supervise and rota a team of volunteers with support from the Volunteer Co-ordinator
  • Asa key holder you will be responsible for securely opening and closing shop premises in the absence of the shop manager. You will be responsible for the adherence to the Shop stock cash and security rules a copy of which will be provided to you.
KEY FUNCTION – COMMUNICATION
  • Ensure the Manager is regularly updated with information relating to shop performance and key developments.
  • Ensure accurate and relevant information is cascaded to the shop team on a regular basis.
  • Respond to requests for information in a timely and professional manner having regard for limits of authorisation and confidentiality.
  • Provide Management cover when required, attend meetings and training sessions, you may be requested to deal with staff issues whilst the Manager has other commitments.

KEY FUNCTION – HEALTH AND SAFETY
