As followers of Jesus Christ and members of the Midway Church of the Brethren, we are called to be faithful in our service to Jesus Christ and His church. We are part of the family of God as well as part of the church family. In order for any family to grow and thrive, family members have various responsibilities and tasks. Likewise in the church family, we are all called to be “ministers” for the Lord, whether the task is great or small. As part of the body of believers in the local fellowship at Midway, each member is an important part of the “whole” and as we exercise our gifts and abilities, we help the entire body be effective in service and ministry to each other and to the community and world beyond.

Our desire is that each member is involved in some area of church life and ministry using their specific gifts and abilities. We would also encourage each member to be willing to commit themselves to an area of service. All of us receive a blessing when each of us does our part for the Lord and the work of the church and His Kingdom.

Purpose

1. Provide the opportunity for members to express ministry areas and tasks where they are (would be) willing to serve

2. Clarify the tasks and expectations of each responsibility, task for each worker

3. Maintain an inventory of the spiritual gifts, talents and abilities of the church membership

4. Call individuals to serve in their areas of special gifts, talents and abilities.
