LONDON BOROUGH OF NEWHAM

Notice of amendments to DOG CONTROL ORDERS (2010)

The Dog Control Orders (Procedures) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/798)

Section 55 Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005

The Council of the London Borough of Newham has made amendments to the Dog Control Orders on the 14th June 2012.

The amendments are as follows:

London Borough of Newham (Dogs on Leads) Order 2011

This Order is extended to cover:

- All car park areas that are:

(i) open to the air (which includes land that is covered but open to the air on at least one side) irrespective of ownership; and

(ii) to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) within the London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership.

This order will continue to apply to:

All highways, including roads, footways, footpaths, alleyways and grass verges within the London Borough of Newham and to the areas detailed in list A attached to the said Order (Barking Road Recreation Ground E6 only is exempt from this specific Order).

London Borough of Newham (Dogs Exclusion) Order 2010

This Order is extended to cover:

- All children's play areas that are:

(i) open to the air (which includes land that is covered but open to the air on at least one side) irrespective of ownership; and

(ii) to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) within the London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership.

- All fenced sports areas that are:

(i) open to the air (which includes land that is covered but open to the air on at least one side) irrespective of ownership; and

(ii) to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) within the London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership.

St John’s Churchyard Broadway, E15 (open space and amenity area) is removed from list B to the Dogs Exclusion Order 2010 and included inlist A to the Dogs on leads Order 2011.

This order will continue to apply to:

West Ham Cemetery, the garden areas in Stratford Park E15, the sunken garden at Thames Barrier Park E16, the bandstand area and the garden area in West Ham Park, Portway amenity areas E15 and all areas detailed in list Battached to the said Order.

London Borough of Newham (Dogs on Leads By Direction) Order 2010

This Order is amended to read as follows:

- All land which is:

(i) open to the air (which includes land that is covered but open to the air on at least one side); irrespective of ownership and

(ii) to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) within the London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership

This includes all parks and open spaces, all children’s play areas; all open air communal spaces within housing estates, all residential and commercial car parks within London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership.

London Borough of Newham (Fouling of Land by Dogs) Order 2010

This Order is amended to read as follows:

- All land which is:

(i) open to the air (which includes land that is covered but open to the air on at least one side); irrespective of ownership and

(ii) to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) within the London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership

This includes all parks and open spaces, all children’s play areas; all open air communal spaces within housing estates, all residential and commercial car parks within London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership.

London Borough of Newham (Specified Maximum) Order 2010

This Order is amended to read as follows:

- All land which is:

(i) open to the air (which includes land that is covered but open to the air on at least one side); irrespective of ownership and

(ii) to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) within the London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership

This includes all parks and open spaces, all children’s play areas; all open air communal spaces within housing estates, all residential and commercial car parks within London Borough of Newham, irrespective of ownership.

The Orders may be inspected and copies obtained at NewhamTown Hall, Barking Road, East Ham, London, E6 2RP on any weekday between 9am to 5pm.
