DUNCAN McCLEMENTS TRUST
FOR ECUMENICAL TRAINING
The Rev. Duncan McClements, first Convener of the Church of Scotland Committee on Ecumenical Relations, was passionate about promoting opportunities for ecumenical encounter. This trust, which bears his name, makes grants for the following purposes:
1. / To enable people to attend ecumenical assemblies and conferences.2. / To provide ecumenical encounter at gatherings of young people.
3. / To enable those who are training for the ministry, of whatever kind, to attend
short courses or conferences promoting ecumenical understanding.
4. / To provide additional resources for those involved in ecumenical placements.
during their course of study e.g. books or expenses to visit projects.
5. / To enable anyone wishing to do so to examine ecumenical good practice
during periods of study.
6. / To enable schools to organise one-off events to promote better understanding
among differing communities and cultures with different religious backgrounds.
7. / To provide additional resources for those studying at The Ecumenical Institute
at Bossey, Celigny or other ecumenical education centres.
The trustees, the Church of Scotland Committee on Ecumenical Relations consider applications at meetings in January and June each year.
The closing dates for receipt of both parts of the application form are 31st December and 31st May.
No individual award will exceed 50% of the total costs incurred by the applicant.
Successful applicants will be expected to provide a written report to the Trustees within six weeks of the completion of the activity for which a grant is made.
