Saint Paul NAACP REQUEST FOR ACTION Form

The mission of the Saint Paul Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination within the city of Saint Paul. There are many organizations that promote diversity, inclusion and racial equity. The NAACP has a laser sharp focus on civil rights, as defined below. Please consider your program’s alignment with this emphasis when requesting action.

Civil rights are personal rights guaranteed and protected by the U.S. Constitution and federal laws enacted by Congress, such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Civil rights include, for example, freedom of speech, the right to vote, due process of law, equal protection of the laws, and protection from unlawful discrimination. (Source: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/civilrights/faq/86.html).

If your program or project supports the realization of equality of rights described above, please complete this REQUEST FOR ACTION form (alternatively, submit any documentation you have already prepared that answers these questions). We appreciate concise responses. The Executive Committee will consider your request at a future meeting, as the agenda allows. So, you will want to allow 30 – 60 days for processing.
