Payroll Import
Payroll Import will import payroll amounts for multiple sources and multiple loan payments from a CSV file on your PC. This file must follow a specific layout that is described at the end of this document.
- Go to Plan IS > Record Update > Payroll and Loan Processing. (Figure 1)

- Enter the Trust Account Number and Contribution Date and click “Submit”.
- Select the sources that you want to import. (Figure 2)

- Import Current Loan Payments. This option imports the loan payment amounts from the loan records. If participants have multiple loans, this is useful because it imports the correct loan payment to the correct column.

Click the “Browse…” button and select the CSV file on your PC that contains the Payroll data that you want to import. (Figure 4)

- Click “Submit”.
- This will display the Field Map screen (Figure 5). This screen lists the Social Security Number and any sources that you selected for import on the left side of the screen. The far right side of the screen displays the data that was found in the first line of the CSV file and gives each field a field number.

You must select the fields on the left from the CSV file that you want to map. In Figure 6 you we can see that on field number 1 on the right is our SSN field, so we type a 1 in the “Map Field to Imported Data#” column next to SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. You will do the same process of mapping data fields on the right to payroll fields on the left for the sources and loan payments that you are importing. Leave Default Value blank.

- Submit”.
- You will get a Popup Dialog that confirms that the payroll data has been imported. Click the “OK” button.
- This will display the normal Payroll Processing screen with all of the payroll and loan payment amounts from your CSV file. You can now review the imported payroll amounts and make any necessary changes. Note that the payroll data will not be written until you click “Submit”.
CSV File Layout
Your CSV file must contain, for each participant’s payroll that you are importing, their SSN and the payroll amount for at least one source.
You can create the CSV files in Excel as you would create a normal spreadsheet
The only difference is that when you go to save your spreadsheet you must save it as a CSV file instead of an Excel XLS file.
