Branford Rotary & YMCA 5k on Thanksgiving Announced

New Race Logo and Tech Tees to First 900 5K Entrants!

Branford, CT – On Thanksgiving morning over 1,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the annual Branford Rotary & YMCA 5k. The event takes place on Thursday, November 26 at Walsh Intermediate School in Branford, CT. Proceeds of the event, presented by All American Waste, benefits the Branford Rotary F oundation and the Soundview Family YMCA. The event features a 5K Run & Walk and ½ Mile Kids Fun Run. The 5k course is a flat and fast and runs out-and-back through Young’s Pond and the Pine Orchard Golf Course. After the race, participants are invited to a pre-Thanksgiving Day meal with fruit, baked goods and warm beverages.

The event is introducing tech tees to the first 900 5K entrants. Remaining runners, walkers and Kids Fun Run entrants receive cotton tees. A newly designed logo (seen above) will be on all race shirts. Race tees and bibs are available to pick-up on Tuesday, 11/24 and Wednesday, 11/25 at Trailblazer in Branford from 10am-6pm. Registration is also available during early packet pick-up. Raceday registration and packet pick-up begins at 7:30am at Walsh Intermediate School on Thanksgiving morning. The Branford Rotary & YMCA 5k encourages participants to donate to the Liberty Bank/Rotary Club Thanksgiving Dinner Drive! The Liberty Bank Foundation provides 25 cents for every dollar donated.
