2012 TAKOMA FIRE WINTER SOFTBALL CLINIC
Girls born in 2001, 2002, or 2003
Takoma Fire is again offering a winter fastpitch softball clinic for girls who would play at the 10U level – for those girls who are 8, 9 or 10 years old on January 1, 2012.
Instruction will be provided by the professional team from Five Star Athletics, under the direction of Jillian Callaway. A former University of Maryland softball player, Jillian is a very dynamic instructor who has great rapport with the girls and is at the cutting edge of softball instruction. This is a really great opportunity and we are excited to be able to offer it.
What: Six (6) weeks of top notch fastpitch softball instruction for 1.5 hours each week. Instruction will be provided on
-offense – hitting, bunting, base running, sliding
-defense – throwing, catching, defensive positioning
When: Saturdays from 10 a.m.-11:30 pmbeginning Saturday January 21 and ending Saturday February 25th.
Where: We will gather each week in the gym at the Forest Glen Boy & Girls Club at 1300 Forest Glen Road in Silver Spring (corner Forest Glen Rd and Sligo Creek Parkway).
How Much: It will be $65 for the 6 weeks if you register and pay before December 1, 2011. That’s about$11/hour – for 6 weeks of high quality instruction - a great value! And excellent preparation for team play in the Spring. After December 1, the price is $75.
How Do I Sign Up: Each year the softball clinics have gotten more popular, so sign up early to assure yourself a spot. Please indicate your interest by email
BUT your spot in the clinic is only guaranteed by receipt of check and it will be on a firstcheck received basis until the clinic fills up. Scholarships are available upon request. At full enrollment, we will start a waiting list.
