Guidance on completing this form
This Award is given to recognise the contribution of an individual barrister or group of barristers to pro bono work in the past 12 months. There is no fee to enter.
Judges will consider:
- time commitment
- importance of the assistance given
- innovation, inspiration or example in the work undertaken; and
- commitment to the pro bono ethic
Please keep these in mind when writing the description of the work undertaken and ask those writing the support letters to consider why they feel that the work deserves recognition – perhaps it was because the individual worked above and beyond the level expected of them, they showed great patience or perseverance or had a realimpact on those who they helped.
The closing deadline for applications is: Thursday 10th September2015
What happens then?
Our panel of judges, led by Lord Goldsmith QC, will then consider the applications.
Nominations received willbe published in the award brochure, distributed at the presentation of the award at the Bar Conference on Saturday 17th October 2015and on the Bar Pro Bono Unit website.
