PurposeofJob:Toprovideahigh-qualityfrontlineservicetovictimsofdomestic
abuse,deliveringaservicetothoseathighestrisk.Toworkwithinamulti-agencyframeworkconsistingoftheMARACandlocalpartnershipresponsestodomesticabuse.
ThisroleissubjecttoanenhancedCriminalRecordsBureauCheck/DBS.
MainDuties:
- Identifyandassesstherisksandneedsofdomesticabusevictimsusinganevidence-basedriskidentificationchecklist.
- Focusonandprioritisehighriskcasesandprovideapro-active,shorttomediumtermcrisisinterventionservicethroughindividualsafetyplanningandpersonalsupport.
- Workwithhighriskvictimsofdomesticabusetohelpthemaccessservicestokeepthemandtheirchildrensafe.
- Advocateforhighriskvictimswithagencieswhocanhelptoaddressthedomesticabuseby:
I.Understandingtheroleofallrelevantstatutoryandnon-statutoryservicesavailabletodomesticabusevictimsandhowyourrolefitsintothem.
II.Providingadvocacy,emotionalandpracticalsupportandinformationtovictimsincludinginrelationtolegaloptions,housing,healthandfinance.
III.WorkingdirectlywithallkeyagencypartnerstoaddressthesafetyofhighriskvictimsandensuringthattheirsafetyplansarecoordinatedparticularlythroughtheMARAC.
- Manageacaseloadensuringeachclientreceivestheappropriateserviceindividualtotheirneeds.
- Supporttheempowermentoftheclientandassisttheminrecognisingthefeaturesanddynamicsofdomesticabusepresentintheirsituation,andhelpthemregaincontroloftheirlives.
- Understandmulti-agencypartnershipstructuresandworkwithinamultiagencysettingwhichwillincludeparticipationattheMARAC.Youwillcontributeinterventionsandhelpdesignaplantoprotectvictimsandanychildren,whilemaintaininganindependentroleonbehalfofyourclient,keepingtheirsafetyascentraltoanyresponse.

I.Feedsbackintoactionplanningtofurtherprogress,signpostorclosecasesand;
II.Providesfeedbacktoyourclients/agencies.
- Helpmaintainaccurateandconfidentialcasemanagementrecordsanddatabasesandcontributetomonitoringinformationfortheservice.
- Complywithdataprotectionlegislation,confidentialityandinformationsharingpolicyandproceduresandalllegislationconnectedtoyourwork.
- Supportcolleaguesandpartneragencies,throughawarenessraisingandinstitutionaladvocacy,inordertoprovidethebestpossibleserviceforvictimsofdomesticabuse.
- Respectandvaluethediversityofthecommunityinwhichtheservicesworksin,andrecognisetheneedsandconcernsofadiverserangeofsurvivorsensuringtheserviceisaccessibletoall.
- Remainup-to-dateandcompliantwithallorganisationalprocedurespoliciesandprofessionalcodesofconductandupholdstandardsofbestpractice.
- Provide support 9-6 Monday to Saturday as part of a rota with other Safer Preston staff.

Knowledge
Youarerequiredto:
- Haveagoodunderstandingofdomesticabuseincludingtheimpactofdomesticabuseonvictimsandtheirchildren.
- Havetheoretical,practicalandproceduralknowledgeofcivilandcriminaljusticeremediesforvictimsofdomesticabuseandtheirchildren.
- Understandchildprotectionissues,andthelegalresponsibilitiessurroundingtheseissues.
- Understandtheprinciplesofriskassessment,safetyplanningandriskmanagementforvictimsofdomesticabuseandtheirchildren.
- Understandtheremitsandresourcesofrelevantstatutorybodiesandvoluntaryagencies.
- Understandandbecommittedtoequalopportunitiesanddiversityissuesinpolicyandpractice.
Experience
Youarerequiredtohaveexperienceof:
- Workingwithvulnerablepeople.
- Managingacaseload.

Skills/Qualifications/ProfessionalMembership:
Youarerequiredto:
- Havecomputerliteracyskillsand havesome experience ofworking withdatabases.
- HoldaCAADAIDVAtrainingcertificate,orarelevantdegree,ordemonstrableequivalentexperience,oravocationalqualification,orbewillingtoundertakerelevantstudy?
