Context

·  WWF-UK has a three-year Programme Partnership Arrangement (PPA) with the UK Department for International Development (DFID). Through this arrangement, WWF-UK receives approximately £3.1 million a year for work which supports our mission of people living in harmony with nature. The purpose of this role is to strategically manage and oversee the delivery of WWF-UK’s PPA with DFID.

What’s the purpose of this role?

·  Leading on the identification and implementation of strategies to strengthen the performance of our PPA work

·  Leading the PPA Unit, including line management of the PPA Adviser, Social Development Adviser and Climate Change Adaptation Specialist

·  Monitoring and overseeing PPA income and expenditure and managing the PPA Unit budget

·  Providing technical support to the PPA programmes

·  Overseeing and contributing to WWF’s PPA monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes (led by the PPA Adviser)

·  Managing and facilitating sharing and learning mechanisms and their uptake within and beyond the PPA

·  Acting as the key contact point with DFID for the PPA, maintaining effective communications with the DFID Civil Society Department

·  Leading the development of future partnerships with DFID

What skills, knowledge and experience are needed?

·  Significant understanding of the links between environment and development (essential);

·  Up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging priorities and requirements of institutional donors including results management, value for money, gender, transparency (essential);

·  Applied knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning methodologies and processes (essential);

·  Significant experience of project cycle management, including management of complex institutional donor funded programmes (essential);

·  Superior interpersonal and influencing skills and proven ability to build effective working relationships across organisations (essential);

·  Highly developed analytical skills and proven ability to think and act strategically (essential);

·  Experience of leading and managing a high-preforming organisational unit, including annual planning, objective setting, personal development support, etc. (essential);

·  Experience of pro-poor approaches to conservation in developing countries;

·  Knowledge of DFID donor requirements;

·  Experience of portfolio management.
