Job Title:Early Years Practitioner (L3)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hrs during term time 40 hrs during school holidays

Pay: £19,230 - £20,220 p.a. + 8% Employer’s Pension from end of probation

Accountable to: Childcare Services Manager

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to work as a qualified childcare practitioner and key worker delivering childcare and education as part of Mary’s childcare team in our early years setting Pre-school and in our holiday Play Scheme during school holidays under the guidance of the service manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

●To provide a stimulating and happy environment where children can grow and learn

●To actively encourage children’s learning and progress in all areas of development by interaction and extension of play activities

●To work in partnership with the parents

●To know and adhere to the pre-school's operational and safety policies and procedures

●To assist the Early Years Teacher with the short, medium and long term planning of the EYFS curriculum

●To carry out and record children’s observations in accordance with the requirements of the EYFS framework and as instructed by the service manager

●To participate in continuous professional development and training as required

●To ensure that any information received concerning the children is kept confidential

●To assist with the daily setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment

●To attend staff meetings. Undertake training and other events throughout the year.

Person Specification

Essential

Education

●Early Years Practitioners with an NNEB/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification

●A-C GCSE Grades in English and Maths

Experience

●3 years of previous experience of working as an Early Years Practitioner in an educational setting

●Experience of curriculum planning according to the EYFS framework

●Experience in being a key worker for 2 and 3 year olds
