2016 MOVIE MAKER DIRECTIONS
GO TO START → choose ALL PROGRAMS, → choose MOVIE MAKER
ADD A TITLE SLIDE/INFORMATION SLIDE
• Under HOME tab choose TITLE
• Add a title and your FIRST NAMES
- Change font, color,size, etc by choosing from the menu bar
- Choose FORMAT to change the background color on the slide
- Drag and stretch text box into the correct position
ADD A CONTENT SLIDE
• Under HOME tab choose TITLE
• Open your CONTENT PAGE in your Google drive folder, highlight and copy your content bullets
REMEMBER COPYING AND PASTING OFF THE INTERNET IS PLAGERISM!
• Click on the text box on the blank slide in your movie timeline , right click, and PASTE
- Change font, color,size, etc by choosing from the menu bar
- Choose FORMAT to change the background color on the slide
- Drag and stretch text box into the correct position
ADD PICTURES/VIDEOS to your movie
• Under HOME tab choose “Add Videos and photos”
• Look in your PICTURE FOLDER in your Goggle Drive.
• Click on photo you want to add(Ctrl A will highlight all the pictures in the folder)
• Click on OPEN
-The first picture added will appear in the movie line up with a text box.
-Click on text box and give your movie a TITLE and add your names.
-Change font, color, size, etc by choosing from the menu bar.
• Choose HOME tab to continue to add pictures
ADD A BIBLIOGRAPHY/SOURCES SLIDE
• Under the HOME tab choose CREDITS
• Open your BIBLIOGRAPHY PAGE in your Google drive folder, highlight and copy your bibliography list
• Click on the blank slide in your movie timeline , right click, and PASTE
SAVE YOUR PROJECT
• Choose the arrow next to the blue bar near the HOMEbutton at the top left on your screen
• Choose SAVE PROJECT AS
• Change the name of your movie to the following form: environmentalproblem your first names.wlmp
EXAMPLE: fracking john mary.wlmp
• Save your movie file into your Google drive PROJECT FOLDER
• Continue to save frequently and you work on your movie project!
ARRANGE YOUR PICTURES IN THE CORRECT ORDER
• Drag the pictures into the order you would like for your movie
ADD TEXT TO A PICTURE (Optional)
• Click on the picture you want to add text to
• Under HOME tab choose CAPTION
• Add your text
- Drag and stretch text box into the correct position
- Change color, font, size, etc by choosing from the menu bar
ADD ANIMATIONS (Optional)
This will change the look when the movie transitions to next slide
• Click on a picture in your timeline
• Hover your mouse over the design choices and see what happens to your picture to change the way your
movie moves to the next picture in your show
ADD YOUR VOICE RECORDING
1. Make a recording with your phone, save the file, and email it to yourself
- Open your email and save this file into your Google drive PROJECT FOLDER
- Rename each recording so you can tell which picture this matches ( EX: picture 1 or waterbottle)
- Highlight the file and drag it onto your movie timeline
OR
2. Make a recording with your computer
• Check the microphone recording level on your computer
-Choose arrow at bottom right corner on your computer screen
- Click on speaker icon and make sure the volume is turned up
- RIGHT CLICK on the speaker icon and choose RECORDING DEVICES
- DOUBLE CLICK ON “INTERNAL MICROPHONE ARRAY”
- Choose LEVELS tab
- Move slider arrows to the Middle level on both sliders
- Click on OK
•Choose RECORD NARRATION in the HOME tab of Movie Maker program
- Click on RECORD button. Speak LOUDLY (microphone is near top your computer screen)
-When you are done recording click on STOP
- Choose SAVE. You will see a small audio bar appear under the picture.
•SAVE YOUR PROJECT
MAKE SEPARATE RECORDINGS FOR EACH SLIDE YOU WANT TO NARRATE
ADJUSTING THE NARRATION TO FIT THE PICTURE
(If your narration is longer than your picture)
• Click on a picture with an audio bar underneath
• Choose OPTIONS
• Check TIME in the END POINT box
• Under VIDEO TOOLS choose EDIT
- Change the time in the duration box to match the end point time of the audio
• Click on the next picture and REPEAT.
• Play the movie by clicking of the light blue arrow on the left.
• SAVE OFTEN
MAKING YOUR PROJECT INTO A FINISHED MOVIE:
• Choose the arrow next to the blue bar near the HOMEbutton at the top left on your screen
• Choose SAVE MOVIE AS
• Choose “Recommended for this project”
• Click on SAVE (it will go through a small process so if you see the green bar you are on the right track)
• Save it into your Google drive PROJECT FOLDER
• Make sure it saves as an MP4 file!!!!!!!
