MICHAEL J BOGGS – INDEPENDENCE, KY. MIKE BEGAN PLAYING SOFTBALL IN 1979 WITH BOYS CLUB UNTIL 1981. WAS ON THE 1983 HOLMES BASEBALL REGIONAL RUNNER-UP AND IN 1985 WON THE MR .BULLDOG AWARD. IN 1989 PITCHED A ONE HITTER 1993 PLAYED WITH THE 16-0 SILVER BULLETS / MURPHY BOYZ WHICH PLACED THIRD IN STATE. PLAYED FOR 1996 BUTLERS OF LATONIA AND WON CLASS B STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. HE HAS COACHED BASEBALL AND BASKETBALL FOR TAYLOR MILL BOOSTERS.
CHARLIE CHAPPIE – COVINGTON, KY. PLAYED SOFTBALL FOR COVINGTON TURNERS AND GOODTIMERS 11. GREATEST THRILL PLAYING ON TEAMS THAT WON 9 TURNERS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
CHARLIE HAS BEEN BASKETBALL OFFICIAL FOR 32 YEARS AND STILL ACTIVE. HE HAS OFFICIATED 3 BOYS SWEET 16 STATE TOURNAMENTS AND 5 GIRLS SWEET 16 STATE TOURNAMENTS. AND 6 ALL “A” CLASSIC TOURNAMENTS. HE WAS ASSIGNED TO THE GIRLS SWEET 16 STATE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN 1996 HIS FIRST STATE TOURNAMENT.
RALPH DUSING – VILLA HILLS, KY. RALPH PLAYED BASEBALL AND BASKETBALL AT SAINT HENRY AND BASEBALL AT THOMAS MORE COLLEGE. COACHED THE PETSUITES WHICH WON THE CLASS “AA” CITY CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2002 WITH A RECORD OF 26-1.. IN NOVEMBER 2001 WAS INDUCTED INTO THE ST. HENRY DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL HALL OF FAME AND 2007 WAS INDUCTED IN REDS BASEBALL HEAVEN BASEBALL HALL OF FAME. HE HAS COACHED LITTLE LEAGUE AND KNOTHOLE BASEBALL TEAMS FOR MORE THAN A DECADE. RALPH HELPED CREATE AND MAINTAIN A “FIELD OF DEAMS” FOR SAINT HENRY.
ROBERT MOORE – VERONA, KY. HE HAS PLAYED ORGANIZED SOFTBALL SINCE 1963. HAS PLAYED ON OR COACHED THE FOLLOWING TEAMS SHADNOOK, HARRYS CORNER, LOUISVILLE NASHVILLE RR, AVIS ENTERPRISES. STEVES PUB, REDS BOYS.
IN 2003 FINISHED THIRD NSA CLASS B WORLD TOURNAMENT. FINISHED FIFTH IN NSA SUPER B AND THIRTEEN IN ASA WORLD CLASS B
IN 2004 SECONDED NSA CLASS B WORLD AND NSA SUPER B WORLD, FOURTH IN ISA WORLD CLASS C AND THIRTEEN ASA CLASS B WORLD
IN 2005 NSA CLASS A FIFTH, ASA CLASS B WORLD FIFTH AND ISA CLASS B WORLD FINISHED NINTH
IN 2006 NSA CLASS A WORLD SEVENTH, WSL CLASS A WORLD FIFTH AND NSA CLASS AA WORLD FINISHED FOURTH.
TOM THACKER – CINCINNATI OH. TOM PLAYED BASKETBALL AT COVINGTON GRANT HIGH SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI. HE WAS AN ALL-STATE KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER FROM 1958 – 1960, WHERE HE LED THEM TO DISTRICT AND REGIONAL CHAMIONSHIPS, HE WENT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI WERE HE WAS ALL-AMERICAN IN 1963 AND HELPED THEM WIN BACK TO BACK NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 1961 AND 1962. THEY JUST MISSED A 3-PEAT IN 1963 BY ONE GAME. AFTER COLLEGE HE JOINED THE CINCINNATI ROYALS. IN 1966-67 HE PLAYED FOR THE MUSKEGON, MI. PANTHERS AND THEY WON A CONTINENTAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP. HE WAS PICKED UP IN 1968 BY THE BOSTON CELTICS AND WON A NATIONAL BASKETBLL CHAMPIONSHIP. THE INDIANA PACERS ACQUIRED HIM IN 1970 AND HE EARNED ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE AMERICAN BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION.
LLOYD McDERMOTT – PLAYED FOR THE HOLMES BULLDOGS 1940-1943. HE WAS NAMED TO THE KENTUCKY ALL-STATE ALL –STAR TEM IN 1943 AND 1943. HOLMES WON THE KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1943. AFTER GRADUATION, HE SERVED TWO AND A HALF YEARS IN THE U S MARINE CORP DURING WORLD WAR 11. HE PLAYED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY FJROM 1946 TO 1950. HE WAS A THREE YEAR STARTER AND LETTERMAN. HE PLAYED IN THE 1947 GRET LAKES BOWL AND THE 1950 ORANGE BOWL. HE WAS TWICE NAMED TO THE SEC ALL-STAR TEAM AS WELL AS SEVERAL NATIONA ALL-AMERICAN TEAMS.
HE WAS DRAFTED BY THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES IN 1950. LATER WAS TRADED TO THE DETROIT LIONS AND THEN TO THE CHICAGO CARDINALS. HE FINISHED HIS PROFESSIONAL CAREE4R WITH THE OTTAWA CANADA ROUGHRIDERS IN 1955. HE RETURNED TO HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL AS A TEACHER AND COACH FROM 1956 TO 1964. HE WAS INDUCTGED INTO HE NORTHERN KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC DIRECTORS’S HALL OF FAME IN 1993.
LLOYD PASSED AWAY IN 1964 AT THE EARLY AGE OF 38.
