Overall Purpose/Aim:Reporting to the Managing Director, the post-holder will be responsible for developing all FosterTalk’s marketing strategies in line with the company’s vision and values.
Core Tasks
  • Develop, implement and deliver a high quality integrated marketing strategy for the organisation, working closely with the Heads of Departments.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans for each service provided by FosterTalk setting out objectives and outlining plans for achieving those objectives and measuring success.
  • Be the principle advisor on all company marketing activities, providing strategic advice and expertise to support the promotion of FosterTalk services across B2B and B2C customers.
  • Plan, develop and execute integrated offline and online digital marketing campaigns across social media, website, SEO implementation, content planning and email campaigns.
  • Work closely with the company’s web design agency, co-ordinating web development projects.
  • Plan, develop and execute website development including content creation, accessibility and social media engagement.
  • Production of printed literature.
  • Research and analyse market trends.
  • Maximise any PR opportunities.
  • Undertake competitor analysis and compete against threats.
  • Creative thinker, excellent communication skills and attention to detail with a proactive approach to all marketing initiatives.

Management and leadership

  • Provide effective leadership to motivate and inspire staff to deliver highly effective marketing activities to support organisational objectives.
  • Cultivate a marketing culture within the organisation.
  • Direct line management and mentor of the Marketing Executive
  • Direct line management and mentor of the junior marketing assistant (apprentice).
  • Ensure the marketing plan supports the delivery of the organisation’s vision, values and corporate objectives.
  • Manageand deliver all marketing campaigns and business to business marketing, including on line and via social media.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for departmental marketing activity and provide regular reports on outcomes.

Other specificresponsibilities

  • Carry out own administrative tasks including preparation and delivery of marketing activity, presentations, reports and online marketing via Twitter and Facebook.
  • Ensure that the FosterTalk Brand is promoted and maintained through marketing activity and campaigns.
  • Ensure all marketing activities and campaigns are effectively measured and evaluated to inform future improvements.
  • Ensure marketing plans are updated and activities recorded in order to evidence success measures and potential areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates to the Managing Director and other managers on marketing activities evidencing success measures.
  • Ensure marketing spending is cost-effective and properly managed to ensure excellent value for money.
  • Keep up-to-date with new developments and emerging thinking in marketing to ensure the organisation maximises marketing opportunities.

Additional Duties

  • To undertake such other duties as may from time to time be required to ensure the effective and efficient operation of FosterTalk.
  • The post holder will be expected to undertake any training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post.

It is the nature of work of FosterTalk that tasks and responsibilities are, in many circumstances, unpredictable and varied. All staff are, therefore, expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises where tasks are not specifically covered in the Job Description and have to be undertaken.

The Company is registered with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)/ Disclosure Scotland and makes use of their Disclosure Services, which facilitate the checking of individuals’ criminal records by employers where such individuals are to occupy ‘positions of trust’. You may be required to consent to and apply for a standard/enhanced disclosure at regular intervals during your employment in this post and any offer of employment is provisional and conditional on the satisfactory outcome of the Disclosure check. This is because this role involves access to children and young people and/ or sensitive data. As the Company is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 it will be provided with details of all convictions, cautions, bind-overs or other non-conviction information being shown on the Disclosure Certificate. As From 17th June 2013 the DBS (England, Wales & Northern Ireland) will issue a single certificate of disclosure to applicants only. The Company will be notified that the certificate has been issued and whether the disclosure is ‘clear’ or contains information of ‘criminal history’. Therefore when the Company receive a notification from DBS that the disclosure contains information of criminal history you will be required to produce your certificate for examination within a week of receipt. The certificate will be copied and a risk assessment completed to facilitate the decision making for suitability of employment.
