EC 14/10 PREVIOUS MINUTES

Minutes of 18th January 2014 were read.

EC 14/11 MATTERS ARISING

EC 14/7a FRENCH TRIP

Stewart reported that everything was now booked, the hotel and Chalkwell coaches have been paid. The French have been advised of all the events that the MASA team will be entering. The restaurant has been booked. He has the shirts and hats, letters have been written out to each individual swimmer informing them of the events they will be swimming and who they will be sharing a room with. Stewart has also emailed out advising that they all take a travel sickness pill as this year they will be travelling on the ferry. Insurance cover is in hand and the permit has been applied for.

Barbara Upton sent the list of swimmers and their allergies and suggested that a good supply of bottled water and biscuits were taken on the trip. One swimmer has a disability form which will have to be shown to the French referee and he will also need assistance with his starts.

EC 14/7f Lisa Booth had sent in a report about the presentations

EC 14/8 2 July 5th was agreed for the extra committee meeting

EC 14/12 APOLOGIES Paul Paulding, Ron Dunn, Barbara Upton, Maud Povey, Kathy & Steve Batts.

EC 14/13 CORRESPONDENCE

1 RLSS letter, regarding a meeting at Medway Park on 28th April to meet with the new RLSS CEO and the President. Some Committee members are already attending this with their own clubs

2 ASA registration details have been sent off.

EC 14/14 FINANCE Neil Van-De-Peer reported that he has transferred £6000 into a deposit bond which matures in April he hopes to be able to keep it rolling over each time it matures. We have £3,000 in the deposit account and approximately£10,200 in the current a/c, the insurance and euros still have to be taken out and the cheque sent to Chalkwell coach’s still hasn’t been cashed yet.

He reported that Black Lion Swimming Club is now paying directly into our account.

EC 14/15 REPORTS

EC 14/715a SWIMMING

Colin Booth read through the minutes of the last swimming committee meeting held on 27th January. He has sent off for the licences for the Championships and has put the 50m/200m gala down as two separate sessions. Stewart suggested the closing date was brought forward to give time to book the pool for a longer period or to limit the entries if necessary.

EC 14/15b OFFICIALS & NON-TECHS Ian feels that there will probably be sufficient Officials for the next gala. Barbara reported that the new official’s secretary isn’t ready to take over just yet.

Maureen has everything organised.

EC 14/15c LIFE SAVING Paul will endeavour to organise a lifesaving competition later in the year, and will discuss with Swale council and the RNLI Lifeguards at Minster about the possibility of holding the open water swim at Minster.

EC 14/15d DIVING Barbara is still waiting to hear from Claire Restall regarding the entry fees collected and the cost of the pool hire

EC 14/15e TROPHIES Ann Memmott confessed to mislaying the 100m boys butterfly trophy. Louise Gibbs will ask the last recipient if he has returned it.

EC 14/15f PRESS Lisa Booth said that it would be nice if she could be sent a photograph of the MASA team going to France.

EC 14/15g WELFARE No report.

EC 14/15h DINNER Maureen Beaumont said that the 2014 dinner would probably be at the Golf Club again and hopefully in October – she will look into it and liaise with Hon Sec.

EC 14/8 OTHER RELEVANT BUSINESS

1 Stewart informed the committee that Graham Watson has been proposed as President elect. Janet will speak to Barbara to see who will speak with him.

2 Neil suggested a donation of £50 to Busby Court for the use of the room for meetings. Agreed

3 No one was sure if Alan Elvy is the new MASA rep for Black Lion
