Chile'sglaciershaverecededrapidly in the pastfewdecades, reportedlyendangering the water supply in certainparts of the country. At the same time, the country'scopperindustryisseeking to expand, which some worrycouldfurther erode the remainingglaciers. The country haspassed a National Glacier Policy, butthathasnotsatisfiedenvironmentaladvocates.
