Noteworthy News
Wonder Wednesday
Last week the students’ began learning about “Watersheds”. The students were introduced to the geographic relationships between gravity, rivers, lakes, and the ocean. Using foil to represent different land forms, plains, hillsides and mountain ranges they were able to see the difference of how water travels or stays in a watershed. They are also being introduced to aerial views of our Santa Clara River watershed (local mountains, streams, creeks, lakes and the riverbed.
A good project to do at home would be to have your child observe how water collects on your driveway or street from the sprinklers, or rain. This is also part of our local “watershed”.
