ACT/SAT REMINDERS

Deadlines for spring ACT and SAT testing are fast approaching! See Mr. Carlson in Guidance for details.

YEARBOOK ORDERS

If you have not done so yet, remember that yearbooks can be ordered on-line at www.//jostens.com. The price for the 2013/14 book is $69 plus tax. New orders will only be accepted until the middle of May.

If you have already ordered a book, please make sure payment is made so the order is included in the final number.

ATTENDANCE REMINDERS

Students are reminded that Central High School attendance policy currently limits missed classes to 13 for a semester class and 25 for a year-long class. Attendance appeal forms are available for students over the limit who feel they have appropriate extenuating circumstances for excessive absences. No course credit will be given to students without a successful appeal.

SCHEDULING

Guidance Counselors have been meeting with students regarding potential courses for next year. Please call Mr. Carlson in Guidance with any questions.

Junior Physicals

Students entering the 11th grade in 2014/15 are required by the PA Department of Health to have a physical examination and submit the completed form to the school. Physicals for sports and drivers’ permits may be used to also fulfill this requirement. Please return the completed form to Mrs. Martin, CHS School Nurse by October 31st, 2014.

Keystone Exam Information

Juniors will be taking the Literature Keystone in May while all underclassmen currently taking Biology or Algebra I will also be taking the end-of- year exams.

Juniors who did NOT pass either exam should be remediating low scoring areas to prepare for the fall re-test. Remediation can be done before school, during study hall after school and at home via available computer software or by working directly with the regularly scheduled Math teacher.

A tentative schedule for Spring Keystone Exams is:

Literature…May 15th and 16th

Biology…May 20th and 21th

Algebra I…May 22nd and

23rd .
