2017 Volleyball Tournament Rules

● Teams will consist of up to 6 players with up to 4 players on the court at a time with a minimum being two players.
● Teams will have no more than two male players on the court during a match at any given time.
● There are no officials; call your own faults. In the case of a disagreement, replay the point.
● In the case of lightning or unplayable conditions, the tournament will take place on Sunday, August 14th with a captains meeting at 8:00 a.m. In the case of unplayable weather or conditions occurring on the rescheduled date, the tournament will be cancelled.
● If the tournament is rescheduled, only games that one opponent has reached at least 15 points will count; all other games will be replayed.
● All games will be played rally scoring to 21, win by two, and a cap of 25. The third game will be played to 15, winning by two and no cap.
● Matches will consist of best two games out of three games. Both captains must report to the scoring table after each match.
● Players can play a set position but must rotate servers.
● Net serves are good serves.
● Players can set serves but may not block serves.
● Legal hits include hits by the lower leg, ankle, or foot that would be allowed with the hands or arms.
● Incidental net rule: If the player touches the net, it is considered a fault unless the player is completely out of play or it is a player’s shirt, hat, or hair that touched the net (the net should move no more than ¼ inch, otherwise it is a fault).
● No guy/girl bump, set, spike rule.
● If the ball goes into another court during play, the ball is considered dead.
● Medical attention and assistance is not available on-site. Medical can be contacted by individual players.
● All other BASIC sand volleyball rules apply. If there are questions, please ask.
● Awards are as follows:
○ 1st place: Cheeseburger in Caseville Event Winner plaques and refund of entry fee ($40)
○ 2nd place: refund ½ of entry fee ($20)
