igus vector award competition 2014 is open for entries

Energy chain expert igus invites companies to enterthe vector award 2014 competition. The biennial competition is in its fourth year recognising innovative and creative applications for energy supply solutions, and is open to entries from companies all over the world.The closing date for entries is 15th February 2014; to enter, please visit

“Whether largeor smallenergy chains – anyone can enter and present their designs to the judging panel with brief descriptions, photos and videos,” explains Justin Leonard, Director at igus.“The expertpanel, which comprises representatives from the world of science and specialist associations,will evaluate the applications and select the winners from among all the entrants.”

The winners will receive prize money of up to 5,000 euros [£4,220], with an official award ceremony held at the Hanover Trade Fair in April 2014.

Every two years, igus organises the vector award in recognition of advanced energy chain applications. This sludge treatment system at the Port of Antwerp uses the world’s largest plastic energy chain, the E4.350. The project won the silver vector award in 2012.
