NEWSLETTER NO 2

With SAM IPT looming on the horizon, the WPMS organising committee is seeking your team entries, names and contact details as well as ID details. Note that ID detail will not be displayed on the tournament website.

It is really important for us to know just how many teams you will be entering as so much is dependent on this for our final arrangements and court allocations.

The total number of entries will determine whether we need to extend the venues outside of the Southern Suburbs to the Northern based clubs.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could meet the deadline date of 30 June, you will have an opportunity to make changes thereafter, if required.

ACCOMMODATION:

We have been working hard to source alternative accommodation and at this stage have not found any team hotel that is less costly than the Nelson Mandela Garden Court.

We have also sourced accommodation through Bushbaby tours who have in the past provided excellent rates.

·  Park Inn, which is a fairly new hotel just before the corner of Campground Road in Newlands where it borders Main Road. It is a 5 minute drive from WPCC, just past Newlands Cricket ground on the right hand side as you come down the bridge into Main Road, in the same circle as the former Newlands Garden Court.

·  R500 per person sharing, inclusive of breakfast.

·  Contact – Gina Malherbe – 021712 9653, 082492 3501,

·  Tsogo Sun – Garden Court, Nelson Mandela Boulevard (formerly Eastern Boulevard)

·  Twin Room for the weekend period – R800 per room double sharing, during the week R1060 per room double sharing. Breakfast included.

The full stay therefore for 5 nights Friday to Tuesday should be R2260 per person, double sharing.

·  Note that the hotel is close to the playing venues and the Waterfront.

TRAVEL ANDTRANSPORTATION:

Safair airline have some really good specials from Johannesburg, George and Port Elizabeth and are looking at possibly extending their routes to cover Durban and East London to Cape Town.

We attach their flyer so you can vote for the new routes. Please circulate to all your players as the better the response, the more chance of their setting up these routes.
