CONFESSION OF SIN

O Lord, we confess that our hearts have been proud and we have looked down on other people. We, like our first parents, have doubted your goodness and questioned your truth. We confess that because we have not hoped in you, we are frantic, restless, and miserable at times. Forgive our stubborn selfishness. Forgive our arrogance. Set our hope on the Lord Jesus who died and rose again for sinners. And grant that in Him, we might become a people of peace and hope. We pray in His name, Amen.

There is a hope that burns within my heart that gives me strength for every passing day; a glimpse of glory now revealed in meagre part, yet drives all doubt away: I stand in Christ, with sins forgiven; and Christ in me, the hope of heaven! My highest calling and my deepest joy,

to make His will my home.

There is a hope that lifts my weary head, a consolation strong against despair, that when the world has plunged me in its deepest pit, I find the Saviour there! Through present sufferings, future's fear, He whispers 'courage' in my ear.

Men’s Low Country Boil: We would like to have a men’s event once a quarter where the men can get to know each other and invite friends. August 22 at 6:30pm Don Bluster will kick this off at he and Denise’s home: 611 New Liberty Road, Clarkesville. RSVP to . Inquirer’s Class: We will be having an Inquirer’s Class on Thursday, August 13, from 7-9pm at the home of Brandon and Mary Jane Meeks, 372 Abbington Way, Clarkesville. This class is for anyone desiring more information about the theology, history, vision/mission of our church. The class is a requirement for anyone considering membership at our church. Older children are welcome to attend; there is financial assistance for childcare for families with younger children. Dessert will be served.

Bible Study: Faye Gibbs will be hosting a Bible Study the 2nd and 4th Wednesday mornings of each month at her home.The Study will be “A Vine-Ripened Life” - Spiritual Fruitfulness through Abiding in Christ by Stanley Gale.
