PRELUDE
WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP
Isaiah 26:3-4
PRAYER OF ADORATION
HYMNS OF ADORATION
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Come, thou Fount of ev'ry blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above; praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
mount of God's unchanging love.
Here I raise my Ebenezer; hither by thy help I'm come; and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wand'ring from the fold of God: He, to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor, daily I'm constrained to be;
let that grace now, like a fetter, bind my wand'ring heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the
God I love; here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it
for thy courts above.
Psalm 62
Music and Lyrics: Stuart Townend; Aaron Keyes
My soul finds rest in God alone, my rock and my salvation;
a fortress strong against my foes and I will not be shaken.
Though lips may bless and hearts may curse, and lies like arrows pierce me; I'll fix my heart on righteousness, I'll look to Him who hears me
Chorus: O praise Him, Hallelujah, my Delight and my Reward; everlasting, never failing, my Redeemer, my God.
Find rest, my soul, in God alone amid the world's temptations; when evil seeks to take a hold, I'll cling to my salvation. Though riches come and riches go, don't set your heart upon them; the fields of hope in which I sow are harvested in heaven. Chorus
I'll set my gaze on God alone and trust in Him completely;
with every day pour out my soul and He will prove His mercy. Though life is but a fleeting breath, a sigh too brief to measure; my King has crushed the curse of death and I am His forever. Chorus
CONFESSION OF SIN
O Lord, we confess that our hearts have been proud and we have looked down on other people. We, like our first parents, have doubted your goodness and questioned your truth. We confess that because we have not hoped in you, we are frantic, restless, and miserable at times. Forgive our stubborn selfishness. Forgive our arrogance. Set our hope on the Lord Jesus who died and rose again for sinners. And grant that in Him, we might become a people of peace and hope. We pray in His name, Amen.
SILENT CONFESSION OF SIN
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Romans 5:1
HYMN OF PARDON
O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
Music: Sovereign Grace Music
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus vast, unmeasured,
boundless, free; rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness
over me. Underneath me, all around me is the current
of Your love; leading onward, leading homeward to
Your glorious rest above.
Chorus: Oh the deep, deep love; all I need and trust
is the deep, deep love of Jesus.
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus spread His praise from shore to shore; how He came to pay our ransom through the saving cross He bore. How He watches o’er His loved ones,
those He died to make His own; how for them He’s interceding, pleading now before the throne. Chorus
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus far surpassing all the rest;
it’s an ocean full of blessing in the midst of every test. Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus Mighty Savior, precious Friend; You will bring us home to glory, where Your love will never end.
Chorus
CONFESSION OF FAITH
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy *catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen. *universal

SERMON
“The Calm Heart” Psalm 131
HYMN OF RESPONSE
There Is A Hope
Music and Lyrics: Stuart Townend, Mark Edwards
There is a hope that burns within my heart that gives me strength for every passing day; a glimpse of glory now revealed in meagre part, yet drives all doubt away: I stand in Christ, with sins forgiven; and Christ in me, the hope of heaven! My highest calling and my deepest joy,
to make His will my home.
There is a hope that lifts my weary head, a consolation strong against despair, that when the world has plunged me in its deepest pit, I find the Saviour there! Through present sufferings, future's fear, He whispers 'courage' in my ear.
For I am safe in everlasting arms, and they will lead me home.
There is a hope that stands the test of time, that lifts my eyes beyond the beckoning grave, to see the matchless beauty of a
day divine when I behold His face! When sufferings cease and sorrows die, and every longing satisfied. Then joy unspeakable will flood my soul, for I am truly home.

“Self, my heart is proud (I’m absorbed in myself), and my eyes are haughty (I look down on other people), and I chase after things too great and too difficult for me. So of course I’m noisy and restless inside, it comes naturally, like a hungry infant fussing on his mother’s lap, like a hungry infant, I’m restless with my demands and worries. Faith delivers you from your biggest problem, a proud self-will. I scatter my hopes onto anything and everybody all the time.” - David Powlison
