Supplemental Instructions for Solar Flashlight/Radio T001w/B

SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SOLAR FLASHLIGHT/RADIO T001W/B (UPDATED 10/21/10)

1. Please read the enclosed manual- it is poorly written but still a helpful guide to familiarize your-self with the function and placement of controls/buttons.

2. Unit should be AC charged for 1-2 hours prior to first use- use DC5Vinput port located on same side as reset/scan radio controls and utilize USB cord and AC adapter supplied. If no access to AC (see #4), CHARGE UNIT IN STRONG DIRECT SUNLIGHT(NO SHADOWS) FOR 10 HOURS PRIOR TO FIRST USE. Prior to charging, ensure the radio and flashlight is switched off. Periodically, the TOO1 Will go into hibernation from lack of use (Flashlight or radio will not turn on even when USB or solar charged). In this case, AC charge for 1-2 hours.

3. Move charge switch (next to DC5.5V output) to the front (battery icon) position. If steps 2-3 are done properly and there is power, charge indicator on radio volume control side will glow red until you disconnect AC power.

4. To solar charge flashlight, move charge switch to battery icon position and place flashlight in clear path of direct sunlight (no shadows). Charge indicator will glow red. It takes 8-10 hrs. to charge a completely depleted flashlight battery.

5. To charge your cell phone and portable electronics in direct sunlight, connect cable and proper adapter to DC5.5V output, move charge switch to sun icon and place solar flashlight in direct sunlight. Your phone or electronics should display charge status. Ensure flashlight and or radio is turned off during this process.

6. To boost charge your portable electronics directly from a fully charged solar flashlight, connect your electronics as described in #5 above and move charge switch to battery icon- your electronics should display charge status. Ensure flashlight and or radio is turned off during this process.

7. Ensure radio and flashlight switches are off prior to storage. Solar or AC charge flashlight at least once every 3 months even if it is not used. This way it will always be ready for emergency or play duty.
