Purpose of the role:
To establish, coordinate and deliver restorative justice (RJ) sessions aimed at addressing hate crimes and hate speech on campuses of the Universities of Brighton & Sussex as part of the HEFCE Catalyst funded project “Hate crime on university campuses: Repairing the harms of hate and prejudice through student-led restorative dialogue”.

Main areas of responsibility:
· To coordinate relationships between project stakeholders including:
o To effectively engage university staff and students in raising awareness about the project and promote their involvement in the project’s activity
o Link with community and statutory organisations in the restorative justice sector in Brighton & Hove to create pathways for information sharing and exchange
· To facilitate high quality direct restorative justice conferences in response to reports of hate incidents
· To create, develop and deliver indirect educational and information sessions related to restorative justice aimed at staff and students on university campuses
· To produce written summaries of direct and indirect restorative justice sessions for other researchers and stakeholders
· To contribute to the development, writing and designing of materials and resources focused on best practice of raising awareness of and developing care pathways for the implementation of restorative justice approaches on university campuses. This will include contributing to an information pack, a training outline, website content and short videos.
· To engage in and uphold ethical practice in the project
· To work with the project team in the design, administration and implementation of project activities and outputs
· To assist the research team with accessing participants

· Any appointment is generally made at the bottom of the salary range for the grade dependent upon experience and previous salary.
· This is a part-time post, 1.5 days a week (11 hours) and is for a fixed term of 1 year.
