PROCEDURES FOR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE OF CHILDREN

When you bring your child to Treetops for a session you will be asked to sign next to their name on the signing in sheet. Once you have done this your child becomes our responsibility.

Similarly when collecting your child you (or whoever you have nominated to collect your child) will be asked to sign them out. At this point the child becomes your responsibility even if you remain on the premises. If a person other than the parent or regular carer will be collecting your child you must inform a member of staff.

LATE COLLECTION OF CHILDREN

In accordance with guidelines from CSSIW, in the event that a child has not been collected at the end of the session, attempts will be made to contact parents/carers and all emergency contacts on the admission form. If the staff are unable to contact any of the above and the child has still not been collected within an hour of the end of the session we will contact Social Services who will come to Treetops and take charge of the child.

UNAUTHORISED PERSONS

No child may leave the premise with anyone one who has not been named by the parents (either on the Admission Form, by letter or verbally on the day). Similarly staff are not permitted to take children home. If you are running late please inform us by phone and, if possible nominate someone else to collect your child on your behalf.

SAFETY AT ARRIVAL TIME

To avoid congestion around the entrance at drop off and pick up times parents are asked to move into the hall away from the door. If you wish to speak to the member on staff on door duty she will need to arrange for someone else to take over from her so that security at the door is not compromised.

CLOSING THE DOORS AND PADLOCKING THE GATES

The gates will be padlocked approximately 10 minutes after the start of the session (i.e. 9.10 a.m. and 12.40 p. m) at this point the inner door will also be closed. If you arrive late please ring the doorbell on the gate and a member of staff will let you in. The padlocks will be removed from the gates at the end of the session (i.e. 11.30 a.m. and 3 p.m.) when the children are in the quiet room. If you wish to collect your child early please ring the bell and we will let you in.

LUNCH CLUB

Treetops staff will be responsible for signing out children who are being walked up to Llysfaen Primary School after lunchclub and for signing in children who have been bought down to Treetops from the school.

The padlocks on the gates will be locked after the children have been walked down from the school and will remain locked throughout the duration of the lunch club until be re-open for the afternoon session at which point the children preparing to walk up to the school will be in the quiet room.
