MBAA/FPM Foundation Scholarship Application

Eligibility Requirements and Application Instructions

Through our affiliation with NBAA, the Minnesota Business Aviation Associationis honored to offerthe prestigious Frank P. Macartney Foundation Aviation Scholarships to aviation students throughout the state of Minnesota.

Scholarship applicants will be interviewed by representatives of MBAA in late May or early June at a location to be determined, with announcement of the recipientsto be made shortly thereafter.

Presentation of the 2014 awards will be made at the conclusion of the annual MBAAGolf Outing and Fundraiser on Monday, August 25th, 2014 at the TPC Twin Cities Golf Club in Blaine MN.

Recipient participation is requested but not required.

Candidate Requirements are as follows:
  1. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
  2. Applicant must be a college sophomore, junior or senior; (depending upon the award they are seeking) currently enrolled in a two or four-year curriculum at a Minnesota College or University, with plans leading to a career in the field of aviation.
  3. Applicant must have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.25 (on a 4.0 system) at the time of application.
  4. The completed application shall be accompanied by the following items:
  1. A letter of recommendation from a member of the Aviation Department Faculty at the institution in which the applicant is currently enrolled.
  2. A current resume.
  3. Official transcripts from applicant’s current and prior colleges or universities.
  4. A 250 word essay describing the applicant’s aviation background, current aviation status and future aviation goals.
  5. Photocopies of all FAA ratings / certificates held. (If applicable)
  1. Completed application package must be postmarked no later than Thursday, May 1st, 2014to be considered for the scholarship.
  2. Checks will be made payable directly to the recipient within 45 days of event.
  3. Previous recipients are not eligible.
