Chairman’s Report for the year 2009/10- Mr. P. Guildford

Another busy year for No Mans Heath and District Parish Council, with well-attended and productive meetings, new initiatives,representations at forums and countywide working groups,all of which contribute to maintaining the Parish's "Quality" status.

Thanks are due to all Councillors for their voluntary attendances and hard work in supporting and introducing many initiativesfor the benefit of their communities in No Mans Heath,Bickley,Hampton,Edge and Larkton.

Appreciation is particularly well deserving for our Clerk, Cheshire West & Chester Councillor Ann Wright, whose enormous workloads,leadership skills, energy, and thoroughly professional manner,all admirably represent the Parish Council's business and finances.

The year has included:-

  • further attention to road safety issues with the operation of Speed Indicator Devices at Hampton Heath;
  • purchase of Grit for the Market Place area, in response to the wishes of many residents (well received and used in view of the winter weather experienced! );
  • the provision and refurbishment of Notice Boards at Bickley;
  • the continued support for our Street Orderly with updated risk assessment and provision of necessary safety equipment;

In March this year the Parish Council invited local First Responders/Paramedic; Police; and Community Safety Wardens, to givetheir respective presentations. The evening was well attended and really informative, and it further consolidated the Parish Council's support for the excellent services provided to our communities.

A new initiative was the introduction of two Surgeries, held on 27th March at The Coronation Hall,Bickley, and also outside the Village Stores in No Mans Heath.At both locationsan opportunity was provided (outside formal meetings) for members of the public to speak to their Parish Councillors, Police Officer or Community Safety Warden, about any issues or concerns.The Surgeries were well received and no doubt will be repeated.

In the pipeline for future debate is the creation and provision of an Information Point, where it is envisaged that a directory of services can be accessed by residents to view Council Minutes/Planning Register/Correspondence etc. (Council Minutes are already made available at the local Village Stores in No Mans Heath); Also on the Parish Council's future agenda are some further initiatives towards supporting Youth Groups, so that the younger members of our communities are catered for.

Currently the Council is expressing great concernsfor road safety on the A41 at the Hampton roundabout,and both Parish Councillors and local residents are patiently optimistic that these concerns will be addressed in the near future.
