PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of your position is to create and execute brand integrity across all aspects of the organization’s communications media. The successful candidate will produce memorable print and online media that result in increased engagement and improved brand impressions. Our audiences will be captivated by your work. The Director of Communications reports to the Senior Vice President for Communications and works closely with other department staff to convey the positive message of Magnolia Manor’s ministry.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

·  Proven ability to drive brand engagement through print, visual, broadcast and online media

·  Strong skills in copywriting, videography, photography, web and social media

·  Highly creative leader, passionate about making a difference in the lives of senior adults and their families

·  Thorough understanding of our industry and values, translated into an ability to identify and meaningfully engage target audiences

·  Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills, with the utmost attention to detail.

·  Ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment

·  Strong organizational skills and work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

·  Impeccable sense of what is newsworthy

·  Ability to assess effective ways to improve market penetration

·  Capability and commitment to completing tasks on schedule, even if it means working outside of regular hours

·  Embrace feedback and positively internalize recommended changes for use in future projects

·  Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, Google Analytics, and website update capability using WordPress

·  Prefer five plus years’ experience in various aspects of media communications, including print, broadcast, video and photo

·  At least a Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field required

DUTIES

·  Assess, create and execute memorable print, visual, website, social media and broadcast strategy and content that effectively communicate Magnolia Manor’s ministry through each of its locations

·  Develop content that drives brand awareness, web and social media traffic and lead generation

·  In consultation with the Senior Vice President identify, develop and execute newsworthy stories appropriate for each communications outlet

·  Prepare timely reports on Magnolia Manor website and social media usage and influence

·  Track brand impressions and reviews across the spectrum of web and social networks, communicating both positive and negative impressions to senior management

·  Other duties as assigned to promote and enhance the Magnolia Manor brand and image
