Annual leave:28 days + 8 Statutory (pro rata for part time workers)

Pension:Pension based on 3% contributory pension enhanced by salary exchange

Probationary Period:All posts are subject to a six month probationary period.

Job Description

Mental Health Job Retention Specialist

Introduction

WorkPlaceLeedsis a specialist mental health employment service in Leeds, which supports individuals to gain and retain their employment. The service is funded mainly by Leeds CCG’s, LCC Adult Social Care. It also plays a ‘lead’ role in the city in co-ordinating the Mindful Employer initiative.

WorkPlace Leeds comprises Mental Health Employment and Job Retention Specialist roles. The employment model involves working within the Individual Placement Support Approach and involves co-locating workers part-time within Leeds Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Community Mental Health teams. The Job Retention Specialists receive their referrals from Community Mental Health teams, ICS and Leeds IAPT services.

Purpose of the post

To provide job retention service to individuals who are accessing secondary mental health services and primary care psychological therapy services, IAPT, in Leeds and to deliver Being Well at Work courses and workshops.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Job Retention Support

1. / Provide ongoing 1:1 job retention support to a caseload of clients with mental health problems to retain and return to work
2. / Undertake induction, assessments, action planning and reviews with clients to help them retain their jobs
3. / Deliver courses and other workshops
4. / Work in partnership with employers in supporting clients to retain their jobs
5. / Work towards individual and team targets to achieve the specified outcomes of the service
6. / Maintain accurate manual and computerised client, employer and stakeholder records, delivering reports and client stories
7. / Continually evaluate the service being delivered to clients, employers and partners and other stakeholders

Employers

1. / Negotiating with employers at all levels in the organisation,advising employers on reasonable adjustments, legal responsibilities and phased returns
2. / Working with employers to increase their awareness of issues in relation to recruiting and retaining of employees with mental health difficulties
3. / Promoting Mindful Employer (initiative coordinated by Leeds Mind) and implementation of best practice including keeping updated with changes in employment law.

Partnerships/Marketing

1. / Work closely with our funders and referrers to promote and develop an integrated Job retention service to eligible clients, including attending relevant meetings
2. / Network with and keep abreast of changes of agencies involved in mental health, employment, training and education around the city
3. / Market and promote the service to clients, referrers, employers, private, public and voluntary support agencies

Organisational

1. / Participate in 1:1s, performance management and development, (including Leeds Mind training)
2. / Attend and participate in team meetings and be involved with wider organisation activities
3. / Undertake out of hours and weekend work as required by service needs
4. / To engage with CPD (Continuous Professional Development) in line with identified targets and objectives (individual and service)
5. / Work within the framework of Leeds Mind’s policies and procedures at all times.
6. / Ensure service compliance with the WorkPlace Leeds and the relevant partner agency policies and practices
7. / A commitment to improve the way you work for the benefit of the client and service and positively embrace future developments
8. / Provide information about WorkPlace Leeds and the partner agency’s services to people/agencies with an interest in the organisation's work.
9. / Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to effect the smooth running of
the service.
