All IB Spanish students are required to complete a summer assignment to help maintain your Spanish over the summer you must complete the first two chaptersbefore the first day of school. Please don’t wait, as it counts for a short exam grade per chapter:

Please do not use translators for more than one or two words. You may not translate phrases or sentences, but only a word or a verb. In doing so is in breach of the Academic Honesty Code and will be dealt in school. Be honest and email me for any help! You may only use word reference.

1st reading:

Throughout the year, we will read one to two books. As the first semester tends to move quickly, I would you like you to start reading ahead of time, to be prepared for our first quarter. Don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions or problems.

For each chapter you will do the following:

(1) Annotate: Annotate the book as you read (English and/or Spanish)

(2) Vocab: Find 20 different important vocabulary words and make a list (English /

Spanish)

(3) Characters: make a list of characters in the order they appear and state the relationship to each other.

(4) Questions: Answer the questions for each chapter either in complete sentences or short-hand (I will take these and put them on your quizzes)

(5) Summary: Forevery chapter, you will write a summary in your own words about what you read (SL – 150 words)
