Parent/Teacher Interviews
Progress Reports will be coming home on November 15th in your child’s envelope. On Thursday November 16thin the evening and Friday November 17thin the morning, teachers will be setting aside interview times for you to come in and discuss your child’s progress.

Language
Learning Goal - I will use “reading with meaning” strategies to help me make sense of what I am reading.
Success Criteria
I will use visualization to help me see and feel what the author is writing about.
I will begin to make connections to myself, to the world/media and to other books I have read (text-self, text-world, and text-text).
Math
The grade one students have been exploring and representing numbers to 50 and the grade two students to 200, using concrete materials.
Learning Goal- I will begin to count forwards to 50 using concrete materials (Gr.1).
I will begin to count forwards to 200 using concrete materials (Gr. 2).
Success Criteria for Grade One
I will count to 50 by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's.
I will continue to use 10 frames and base ten blocks to understand 10's and 1's.

Science/Social Studies
Grade ones are continuing to learn about Life Systems and the five senses and grade twos are learning about the Water Cycle.
In grade one, the studentsare continuing to learn about rules and responsibilities in the classroom, at home and outside in the yard.
Grade twos are exploring Traditions and Celebrations.
