The City of Stonnington and Deaf Children Australia are partnering to present Auslan Shadow- Interpreted performances for this RoolaBoola Children’s Arts Festival. The festival takes place from 28 June – 8 July 2016.
Shadow-interpreting incorporates the interpreters into the onstage action with stage direction and costumes, rather than have them stand on the side of stage; resulting in a much more comprehensive theatre-going experience for deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families.
RoolaBoola 2016 will include two Shadow Interpreted performances of the award winning productionReasons to Stay Inside by Katy Warner and an Auslan interpreted NICA Circus workshop.
This exciting new addition to RoolaBoola Children’s Arts festival is supported by the City of Stonnington, and demonstrates Council’s commitment to better access to the arts, supported by its Access and Inclusion Plan. Stay tuned for more information at the RoolaBoola website: or call the City of Stonnington on 8290 1333.
